He needs to be on the field as much Deebo. At worse he is our 2nd best WR and it's not even close. If we are struggling offensively it could be because Kyle is not playing his best players.

Aiyuk is a playmaker. He had some tough catches when we needed him. The one-handed catch with a defender dropped all over him was big time. And he still got YAC afterwards.
the problem has been Shanny for trying to play stupid mind games with him. And not designing some plays specifically for him like he does Deebo. If Shanny highlighted him a lot more he would be one of he better WR in the league.
Totally agree... YUCK can't make a play if the ball only goes his way 5x per game... especially when 3 of 5 of those plays are hook or comebacks..
the guy is Antonio Brown but we are using him like Rashaun Woods..
Exactly moon. There's no point in having weapons if we're never going to use them.
This guy is a serious playmaker and needs to get the ball so much more. Do people in here forget how he was playing just as good or better than Justin Jefferson his last 6 starts last year???? Completely wasting his talent. Shanahan get the f with it
BLINERS must be on... KS followers still think that YUCK is not getting the ball because he's not there..

That said, I'm not giving up on Aiyuk. Even tho he's not getting the ball thrown his way, when it does, he's made plays.
I have no idea how you mean this draft was putrid. Kinlaw is proving to be an elite run stopper in year two, and that is just what the doctor ordered for this defense after Saleh struggled to plug holes on runs up the middle and contain mobile quarterbacks. The Lions game, when Kinlaw was out, Zach Kerr was getting pushed around and opened up lanes for DeAndre Swift. That hasn't been an issue since Kinlaw came back.
Aiyuk will serve as a good compliment next to Deebo at worst and the emergence of Trent Sherfield makes the wr room interesting. Jennings is also a big body receiver that is a major upgrade over Bourne, while Woerner and McKivitz are depth pieces.
It is questionable how Shanahan is using Aiyuk though, as a rotational piece and subbing in players like Travis Benjamin, but the skeptic in me says we gave up on this year after losing our entire secondary and running back room to injuries and Shanahan's balancing evaluating the talent on his team at key areas while trying to generate some wins and stats with players he can trade to recoup some draft capital after trading up for Lance (see the hard commitment to Jimmy for the starting position). Travis Benjamin may be getting an evaluation with mind to activate Jalen Hurd off the IR in the bye week. Niners might be deciding whether to open the window for Hurd and who to cut to make room. Deebo, Aiyuk, and Sherfield are obvious locks while Jennings has been playing well and Sanu and Benjamin had terrible games Sunday and may find themselves on the bubble.
As for Aiyuk's disappearing act, my guess is that between the injury he sustained in camp, losing that camp for development, and the drops he's had, Kyle may view him as our third best receiver right now with Deebo leading the league and Sherfield coming out of nowhere, so while Aiyuk's job is safe for now, he's the odd man out to rotate with the pieces Shanahan has to decide who he'll cut to bring back Hurd. May also explain why Aiyuk is seeing his reps in the form of the kick returner

Ya not sure what's he's talking about. That draft class is looking bad so far. Kinlaw can't stay heathy either so who cares if he's good against the run if he's not playing. Jennings has like 1 catch on the year?
And ya Sherfield has been invisible since the preseason ended.

We didn't draft Kinlaw to be an elite run stopper though. Last year's draft Is looking as bad as the one from 2017 at this point, especially with the disappearance of Aiyuk too.

This is honestly the most confusing thing that has happened this year. Was it his drops? Was he not in football shape? Playbooks? Blocking?

He was, he was actually doing better than him the last six games Brandon started last year. Also we have to consider he was going against every teams number one corner whereas Justin Jefferson had Adam Thielen to take the defenses attention away from him. After all Thielen got what 14 touchdowns? Yeah, Brandon Aiyuk was f**king amazing last year considering who he had throwing him the ball. This year he's just not getting the targets. Simple as that
But why is it that he isnt getting targets? That is the question, and I doubt it has a simple answer.
I mean....I've been talking about why since week 2

Didn't someone in this forum say Sherfield has a history of looking pretty good in the preseason at WR but when the real games start he kind of disappears?

I wonder if this makes Free Agent WR want to come here?
With no draft picks we have to attract F/A's.

It was Arizona fans who were saying that
