Reincarnation of John Taylor. I see a lot of Taylor in his highlights.

Aiyuk is the best WR we drafted since Owens. Crazy skills for the position. Can't wait to see him blossom.

Massive disrespect to Crabtree. He would've balled out with this QB and offense.

I think the 2 best WR's we drafted since Owens are currently on the roster

Yeah I'd take Aiyuk over Crab no doubt but Deebo vs Crab in his prime is debatable IMO. Hopefully Deebo keeps getting better and makes it a no contest after this year

I don't think Crabtree had the right mindset to live up to his potential. I remember being so pumped when he fell to us but it could partly be due to our QB play, some injury stuff but he never got close to the level of where everyone thought he would be. I mean 2 1k seasons and just barely over it to show for his career?

Pretty disappointing all things considered and I don't think it was a talent issue.

This. Crabtree was an underachiever and a big disappointment. It looked like he was finally going to reach his potential when Kap started throwing him the ball, but their cemetery crashed and burned at the end of the Super bowl

Yeah, it's crazy that Crabtree couldn't thrive in the Mike Singletary/Greg Roman aerial system

And they all blamed poor old Jimmy Raye. Tisk. Tisk.

Deebo and Aiyuk are definitely better than crabtree.

Maybe, but neither has had a season as good as crabtrees 2012 season. Hopefully that changes this season

I just mean in the ability they've shown so far. Deebo, naturally, durability is a concern. And yes, agree---both have to prove it in the stat books. That could get tricky given the way shanny spreads the ball around but we'll see.

An older Anquan Boldin came in and supplanted him granted he had an Achilles pop at one point

Crabtree was looking decent at one point, but yeah, I'd still take Deebo and Aiyuk over him anyday.

Crabtree had 827 yards and 7 TDs in just the last 8 games of the 2012 season (including playoffs) with Kap. Then he popped his Achilles in the off-season and wasn't the same when he came back.

Agree with you, but I think Crab gets underrated a little because of his perceived "diva"-ness. And the fact he had to play in a Harbaugh passing offense, lol. He actually (in his prime) would have been a perfect number 2, possession guy across from Aiyuk in this offense

It does take some reminding for people regarding what Crabtree was coming out of college. Perfect fit for Kyle's offense.

Yeah Crabtree was a very good wr when we had consistent qb play. He would stone cbs. I loved him always taking pro bowl cb Patrick Peterson to school every year. He even had a good game (finally) against Seattle at our home. Physical as hell, ran great routes

Yeah, it was injuries. The kid came to TC every year struggling with foot injuries. The only years he had that burst of speed that he needed was in Y1 and again in 2012. After that Achilles pop, he never regained that piece of speed again - and he needed it to resemble a WR #1
Aiyuk gon have a breakout season this year. Book it!
"So, if he can come off the ball like he's supposed to every play, he's kind of an unguardable guy."

any idea what deebo means by these comments specifically?

is he referring to his explosion? or is he just inconsistent with lining up
