Sure I do. Nobody is better than him at it. HR threat on every single return. Barring elite WRs from returning punts when they're the beat option is 80s football mentality.

Playmakers need to make plays. Scared money don't make none.

I swear we drafted Reed to be the PUNT returner... and I also remember that at one time, we couldn't decide who was the best at returning punt.. was it Pettis - Reed - Trent or Richie...

damnn, if I'm not mistaken, we haven't returned a punt for a TD since Ginn did it against Seattle..

Didn't Richie take one home last season?
I hear yall but we need him punt returns.

*Says fan of the team with the largest portion of salary cap on IR.

Yes! Need playmakers to get the ball as often as possible.

*Says fan that doesnt know that punt returns (used to be kickoffs) are the statistically the most dangerous/potential for injury play in football.

Jokes aside, If its the superbowl then hell yeah! But seasons are long and there is no reason to risk it unless absolutely necessary. In certain situations or games that determine playoff seeding or advancing then ok, but just putting him back there cause he is a playmaker is bad coaching. The reward is nowhere close to the risk especially with a season like this one. IMO protect every potential 2021 starter or even shut em down, this season is over and we dont need any more Blair-type injuries that rob a future season of a starter because it happened late in a year.

It's absolutely necessary to score touchdowns.

And? That's not a defense to subjecting the best WR on the team to injury chasing a very slim chance of a PR touchdown during a meaningless season.

Meaningless? Then why play the starters at all? Pack it in...right?

Doesnt seem like you have ever actually played football nor been injured playing it. Players wont give up, coaches wont give up... doesnt mean subject people to unnecessary risk for sh*ts and giggles during a season in which the niners have no legitimate chance to compete for a title or even the playoffs.

This aint black and white nor all or nothing. A team can still try to win games without being idiots putting people in harms way unnecessarily about it. Players & coaches want their bonuses and incentives and are given their shot. But taking risks that the cost doesnt equal the benefit on is how people lose their salaries. Same reason teams dont start throwing hail mary's every play... risk vs reward is what the NFL is all about.

With our injury luck, let's wait until next year to try this.

Nah need playmakers in positions to make plays. PR does not equal injury. That's a losers mentality. He can easily do both.
Could've had 200 yards today. f**k you, mullens
It's glaringly obvious by now that this dude is going to be really freaken good.
Please get a real QB next year for this stud.

Stafford would be perfect
