My dude. All he had to do was show up to summer meetings for a month last year and he has an additional $25 million in his bank account. He could've just sat in the meetings and dozed off and he would be a lifetime of wealth richer.

I don't care if "something happened" or that he was going through rehab. Burning money like that is flat-out not normal. If it was any of us we would be getting slapped on the face by all of our family and friends, regardless of if we had to be in a wheel chair that same month.

Plenty of players get injured and don't throw money like that away. It's not that hard.

Thats my point. If he is willing to toss 25m away then did the money really change him? Something is wrong mentally for someone to toss away everything they worked so hard for. This is not normal or logical behavior as you said.

And not everyone deals with situations the same. Aldon Smith was a first ballot hof and now he is dead and we all have no idea how he collapsed. He had substance abuse issues but so did LT and Joe Montana and Brett Favre. They handled it but not everyone can. Injuries took out plenty of players. Andre Luck and our very own Borland quit the game due to injuries. They could have rehabbed and came back but chose to "throw away" millions. Why didn't anyone simply slap them?

Maybe he doesn't have a proper support system like family or friends to "slap sense into him." A lot of times these athletes are surrounded by yes men. Especially in the people around him that don't have money. They don't want to risk getting cut off. And when somebody's exhibiting mental health problems, you don't wanna trigger them.

And that is not a good point because if it were that easy to slap sense into people then why do people with great support systems gamble, drink, commit crimes, molest children or snort their life away. Why don't all the people with mental health isaues or substance abuse issues or other charachter issues get some sense slapped into them? It's not that simple.

As I said, nobody on this forum knows what's happening with him and people are just s**tting on him because they're upset he's not playing for their team. And not everybody cares about money. He already has enough. After you make a couple of million it really doesn't matter

Coming back from injuries and playing a game where 300 pound dudes are trying to kill you is not easy. These guys trash their bodies. Go play tackle football every single week including practices. You will quit before season is over.

This dude was our best wr and took us to a super bowl. I wish him well and hope he gets help before we get another Aldon news article.

amen i was calling this guy a fool back when he was asking to be traded i said trade his ass if he wants out so much, and we should have done it, oh we shoulda done it, trade deebo too, kyle shanahan coaches all these guys up, coach em up and trade them out, don't pay them cuz then they get fat and certifiably insane

I know first hand how debilitating mental health issues can be. But don't act like these are new issues. Reports have come out that this isn't totally new behavior and the dude has had issues since college and probably before that.

Mental health isn't an excuse to act like a jackass. You have to be accountable and that's a whole separate issue with not just Aiyik but most players. Aiuyk thought he could do what he wanted and found out he couldn't.

Again I empathize with his mental health issues IF that's what this is. However that does not give you free reign to act like a punk. Especially with people who have probably catered to him for the better part of his career.

Mental health doesn't mean you don't have to deal with the consequences of your actions. That's all this is. BA seems mentally soft to me and very entitled. Those are things I don't empathize with. Aiyuk can very easily end all this but AIYUK is choosing not to.

I don't think there is any real controversy here. Aiyuk is increasingly screaming into the void and keeps throwing people under the bus. Only a fringe minority think the team did something nefarious, and even that seems to be less about Aiyuk and more about some beef with the NFL or owners or management.

Looks like the 49ers are going to ignore Aiyuk until he stops acting like a child. If it helps the 49ers claw back more bonus money, then why not?
