San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke to reporters after Sunday's 32-29 win over the Seattle Seahawks, offering several injury updates after the Week 5 matchup.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel suffered a hamstring injury and was quickly ruled out for the remainder of the game. Shanahan was asked whether he had any initial indication of how severe the injury was.
"No, don't know yet," Shanahan responded.
The 49ers will likely have more information on Samuel's status on Monday.
Wide receiver Jacob Cowing also sustained an ankle injury, while defensive end Khalid Kareem suffered a stinger. Both players were able to return to the game.
Meanwhile, tight end George Kittle played through an illness, finishing with five receptions for 24 yards.
"He got sick last night, had some flu symptoms and stuff," Shanahan said. "Loved him battling to get out there and go. You can ask him how much it'll affected him, but I think you guys know how that is.
"He felt like s--t today, but did a hell of a job getting out there, getting ready for the game, and helping us win."
One other injury note: Shanahan said the 49ers do not expect to open wide receiver Christian Kirk's practice window this week.
"I haven't gotten an update," Shanahan said. "I'll probably have one for you guys tomorrow, but I don't think he's coming back this week."
Mike Evans shares update on injured ribs
Wide receiver Mike Evans continues to play through a rib injury he suffered in Week 3, but the issue hasn't slowed his production.
Against the Seahawks, Evans caught seven passes for a game-high 113 receiving yards and a touchdown. He also caught a crucial two-point conversion to help the 49ers secure the victory.
After the game, Evans offered an encouraging update on his ribs, saying he felt much better than the previous week.
"Actually, the ribs were way better this week. Way better," Evans said. "Doctors and trainers did a great job this week of managing me and making sure I'm getting better each week."
