I disagree, but probably not in the sense you mean (at least not completely).

You went on to say Paraag was doing his job. What is his job exactly, or what does this situation tell us about the kind of power he has? How does his position, and our front office structure, compare to other teams around the league?

If Paraag is going to exercise effective control over roster decisions, why isn't he publicly accountable for those decisions?

Good reporting shows both sides. Bias, while always present, should be tampered down. Just tell the story, show the "pettiness", but show it on both sides. But what I care about is, how can the organization learn from this experience?

Imo, I would hope they learn not to come at all the players the same way. Keep track/pay attention to the individual personalities, take it serious...and gameplan from there regarding contract negotiations (and all the backroom BS). Again it's not to cater to any player egos, but to avoid all this nonsense that has come of this.

Either you accept the type of person Aiyuk is and respect him from that stand point, or you don't extend someone like him.... (but they couldn't deal with the sight of him doing well somewhere else, or at least Kyle couldn't).

In what moronic world is Aiyuk not the clown in this situation? I mean, the guy got a contract that was worth more than his production dictated. It was nobody's fault he got injured, that s**t happens, but his actions make no sense. He put himself into this situation and has acted like a complete moron, wrecking his value, making himself look like an unprofessional, self absorbed, head case. He is not helping himself at all.

Stop it! Aiyuk begged Shanahan to stop the trade! He begged him! He was headed to Pittsburgh and cried and begged to make it stop. And after they stopped it he turned into a first class Ahole. End of story!

I feel that both Aiyuk and Deebo may have gotten contracts that reflected their production, but that was in large part due to playing in Kyle's offense. Really don't think either would have earned contracts that big on any other team, which makes Aiyuk's actions that much more head scratching.

Not going to get an argument from me against the idea that Kyle's offense elevates the efficiency/production of his players. Definitely think Deebo was an unconventional star and Kyle found creative ways to utilize him.

I absolutely think Aiyuk was a top 15 WR (being conservative) in any offense. His production could have been better in a more pass oriented offense.

I like what everyone has said. Paraag and Aiyuk's agent did their jobs. At the end of the day Aiyuk's agent won IMO. Now the problem is what's happened thereafrer

Honesty, Aiyuk got paid at the market rate of the day after the Amon Ra St Brown deal dropped so that's that. So what he got hurt. That's part of the game. If anyone on the team regretted the deal after both parties agreed to it then I ask why was it done?

Any deal should be done with conviction and somewhere that got lost

Now it's about business. Aiyuk wants out and the Niners don't care until it affects them negatively from a financial standpoint

Both parties are at a good point one would think but this ain't over until Lynch releases BA and right now I don't see that happening until he's good and ready it when it makes sense to him

BA got a good deal from us. As it turns out we got a bad deal from him. Not his rookie contract but his current one. I viewed BA as the better WR as opposed to Deebo but who knows how he'd be elsewhere as the primary option. I too think he'd be awesome but with his antics I am beginning to seriously have reservations around his mental stability and his focus his will and his want to. I found it particularly disturbing that his own trainer TJ Housmanzadeh said what he said of BA being that BA was his former client. Dude had a personal relationship with him and said that no other team should trust him with a large deal. He said that some folk like football and some folk love it

Soon it won't matter to me what BA does in football so long as it ain't against us but while he's here I have my eye on him and the rest of the 90 man roster

It was a bad deal for us because he shredded his knee. That's the risk with any player. We paid him almost 50m dollars over two years and he was injured for the vast majority of it.

We can complain about whatever it was that Aiyuk did that allowed the team to choose to void his guarantees, but that action freed us from his contract going forward. That is a good thing if you are looking purely at the value of the contract and the risk with Aiyuk being a damaged player.

This isn't going to happen. As we've already discussed there are remedies in place, per the CBA, for what has happened here. The league taking action and disregarding their own agreement (CBA) is exactly how this would end up in court.

Williams is waiting for Aiyuk to decide how he wants to move forward.

You really didnt have to defend yourself here. Anyone who sees grant cohn in every single person with a dissenting or not a pro-team opinion, has pretty concerning mental issues imo. Hell, there are people on this board obsessed with him....yet they claim they hate him but all they do is talk about him for some reason.
