I'm sure we'll see more of Aiyuk lashing out on Instagram but curious if he'll ever report in. I'm still somewhat unclear on what happens if he just never shows/never gets reinstated.... Can he even BE cut??

If he doesn't show up to get reinstated he's on the NFL RESERVE/ LEFT SQUAD list. If he wants that to change he needs to slow down that whip and pull up on 49ers HQ and see those lil boys (Jed John and Kyle) about his paperwork, jersey and helmet. That is when he will get some traction towards his release. If he doesn't do that the 49ers will continue to enjoy the accordion math assigned to his sign on bonus as related to its salary cap hit. The minute he is released we don't enjoy that any longer. We immediately have to account for all that money paid out to him and that may account for another reason we've been keeping all this cap room space along with big hits on other signed players coming due

Had Aiyuk played his cards right he'd have already been released after June 1, but the way he went about things I'm sure the 49ers are intent upon not being in any rush to do him any favors and that's primarily because they don't have any financial incentive to do anything

So Aiyuk is gonna have to wait a good bit until we get good and ready to let him be free

I wonder what makes some guys want to leave our organization this bad?

He was asking for 26M in march and the team told him to kick rocks and tried to trade him. When the team didn't move him, they tried offering him 26M in may and it was too late. The team never got to 120M/4y (30M) until the end of August when Shanahan intervened and forced Paraag to give him what he wanted. If you've got an issue with ghosting, I remind you that it was Paraag that ghosted Aiyuk and Williams during that negotiation which forced it to go into the summer.

Aiyuk has to make a decision on what to do before mandatory reporting. The deadline was supposed to be the mandatory minicamp, but the 49ers opted to cancel it. The team says the cancelled it because of how well OTAs went. Some think they did it because of the World Cup. Some think it's because of Aiyuk possibly reporting.

If Aiyuk doesn't show up for training camp, he'll incur daily $50k non-waivable fines. The 49ers could choose to issue another 5-day letter to force him to report, but they are more than likely willing to let him not report and let the fines add up. He'll move from the Reserve-Left Squad list to the Reserve-Did Not Report list. He continues to not count against the 90-man roster. The accounting of the 2026 cap hit allocations won't count. They still have to account for the 2024 Signing Bonus proration and 2025 Option Bonus proration which totals 8.3M. The cycle would then repeat next year where the team would wait until post 6/1 to release him if he reports in 2027.

If Aiyuk does report, the expectation is that the 49ers will release him to avoid any problems that would arise from his presence. The team would take dead money cap hits of 8.3M in 2026 and 21.3M in 2027. The 49ers could continue to be petty and give him the Jimmy G treatment until roster cutdown day. Aiyuk would consume a roster spot. The team would have to pay him his 100k roster bonus plus the preseason rate (19.2k for 6 weeks + food reimbursements). The team would also take risk of him getting injured and being forced to come to a settlement with him. Forcing him to stay away from the team could also hurt the team if they decide to claw back signing bonus and it goes to arbitration.

The only other option Aiyuk has is retiring. The ball is in his court and he needs to report. I want to see him make it a circus and return some of the pettiness. He should probably take care of that misdemeanor speeding warrant asap though.

The only pettiness is in your head, and Aiyuk's. Because you both are clearly biased.

Ask Mike Evans Kittle and Juice
Also consider which guys wanted to leave so bad
Then ask Greenlaw why'd he come back

In Aiyuk's case it's because he knows he no longer has a place here. Players leaqve for 2 reasons. #1 is more money. #2 is more plying time.
That Florio article on the front page is a real piece of work.
I still can't wait til I can move this page from Niner Talk but I hope 49ers don't give this loser what he wants any time soon.

He can post up whatever he wants on social media. Give the Commanders fans their conspiracy theories and talking points but don't let that guy get his way.

Make him man up and show himself among his former teammates and make him earn those walking papers.

Wouldn't he have to pass a physical if he shows up?

Yes though I don't see that being the issue. He's obviously hoping we release him without him having to show up. I'm sure Jayden will make sure whatever red tape has to be removed for him to join the Commanders will be done so.

There should be a reinstatement process also from going off a search on getting off the reserve/left team list.

so he needs to come back to SC
deal with SCPD
get reinstated
do a physical

idk if he's willing to do that much

Don't let the forum punk you Typecast.

You're going about it the right way. This is what some on the forum do... this is how they deal with pain.

There are others who appreciate your effort and are just sitting back and learning.

I would just hate if some sleezy journalist who lingers here, takes are your hard researched work and makes an article out of it with no credit given.

Good reporting shows both sides. Bias, while always present, should be tampered down. Just tell the story, show the "pettiness", but show it on both sides. If it is an opinion piece that is different. You can pick a side, but even there you need to demonstrate some level of professionalism. But if we are talking about reporting then you report the story as clearly and as balanced as you can. The audience is the ultimate arbiter.

If a journalist is stealing from a web forum, well, they shouldn't be in the profession to begin with. I am not saying it doesn't happen. I am saying it shouldn't.

Regardless if Typecast is correct and Afrikans self righteous what-about-isms are accurate, the story doesn't paint the 49ers organization in a bad light. It only shows the inner workings of one employee doing his job. Paraag's job, and also every player agent's job, is to do what is best for their sides and not take it personal. Aiyuk may hate paraag's actions but I have still seen zero explanation how this paints any person that dealt with Aiyuk on a daily basis (lynch, Shanahan, teammates, etc) in a bad light.

just everyone stirring the pot for their own agendas.
