Imagine having a $120 million deal. Then not showing up to meetings and wearing the wrong colored shorts for practice. Being an all around pain in the rear. So they can void the contract. All he had to do is show up and they are likely on the hook contractually for the guaranteed portions.

Coming off the severe injury. Nobody knows if he will ever be the same. Now the attitude problems and cancer to a team. He very likely will never make this amount again. All he had to do is keep rehabbing, show up to meetings, wear the proper shorts, not be a pain in the rear. For $120 million.

How much of a DIVA do you have to be to pull this? I would show up anywhere. Even a place I don't like. For $120 million. I'd keep my mouth shut too and play along.

Know what? You could be right. But all the social media crap

It does seem as though he likes to mess around with weird antics on social media, maybe he's just trolling this fanbase

I never said anything against her whatsoever, so nah.

If I felt I owed her an apology for something I would certainly do so.

You were in the minority then.

Its not beyond the realm of possibility he just doesn't like the 49ers.

There is absolutely zero rational reason for him to say "yeah, I hate this team so much that I'm just going to go ahead and light $25M on fire just to prove a point."

Something major and specific happened. It's not as simple and broad as "Aiyuk hates the team as much as ninersrule4 clearly does."

Exactly. If he hated them this much then he would've took a trade instead of resigning. . Something happened between BA and the FO
I don't say this often and I try to give people the benefit of the doubt but Aiyuk is a pos human being with a very low IQ. Comes off ignorant, greedy and classless. I have zero respect for his character as a man and fully support the 49ers for voiding his contract. I don't want to see this dude wearing a 49er uniform again and hope he's cut from the team soon.

Holy, WOW. I wouldn't go that far, I think he's a diva and the team will be better off without him or his contract, but I don't think he's a horrible person. 😬

No no...this is how most of the board/internet feel about our players when the team doesn't need them anymore. (I think folks who pay for season tickets are more appreciative though).

They feel they own the players... are jealous of the players (check out a few pages back with someone not wanting to watch 9er games because NFL Players in the league spending their hard earned cash)..

The funniest part is these same internet folks think 9er players would dab them up for bashing Aiyuk. Those other players would walk right past these ignorant fans while looking at them like they aint s**t. Players know how this league is... how Teams/Front Offices can be. They understand BA's situation.

The FO is attempting to shift all blame to the player for this situation through the media, and given the general reaction of 49ers fans here and on social media, it's working.

Also if Aiyuk had an issue with the Super Bowl.. let's make it simple, and wondering what it could be.

His Coach showed up drunk Super Bowl week trying to act like one of the boys. And apparently still had a hang over when he chose to give Pat Mahomes four downs on a single drive to win the ultimate game. Actually thinking that he was going to get a 3rd possession (which he said post game). What a f**king idiot.

I'd be pissed off... well actually I AM STILL f**kING PISSED OFF!

This is understand but the fact that Aiyuk didn't appeal or fight it makes me think something different. Keep in mind a player/his agent will literally appeal anything (jamar chase appealed the ruling that he spit on Ramsey, even though there was literally video. Aiyuk/his agent just accepting the void makes me think he f**ked up or wants out or I don't know. Never seen anything like it.

Yeah we don't know what went on with Aiyuk and IMO that's not the most important part of the story. Aiyuk will be gone, just like many other players that were massive personnel misfires for this regime. And when Aiyuk is gone, we probably will still have this regime, with all its incompetent decision-making.

Imagine if instead of extending-then-regretting-then-voiding Aiyuk these clowns had just made the trade and we had the 2 Pittsburgh picks. Assuming they were 2025 2nd and 3rd rounders, the players chosen at those picks were pick #52 Oluwafemi Oladejo (DE, UCLA) and pick #83 Kaleb Johnson (RB Iowa). For the latter, perhaps we would have taken a different player like Scatteboo (if we went RB, it's been reported the team wanted him), or maybe CB Jacob Parrish who is playing well for Tampa and was taken with pick 84.

Interesting revelations from Coach during today's news conference.
1. This contract stuff with BA took place in JULY. It's now late NOVEMBER. Nobody on the team or in the FO said a word about this.
2. The 49ers are very, very, very good at not letting juicy tidbits leak out here and there.
3. So why did it leak yesterday? My guess, and it's just a guess, is that the 49ers decided it was time to leak it out.
4. WHY? And WHY NOW?

#1 and #2 are almost unheard of these days. Speaks well of the organization.

#3 and #4 are really interesting. On the page (1458) after your post, someone posted a snippet of what appears to be a current interview where Aiyuk says something suggesting the 49ers don't want him. Just a snippet without context, but very weird.

one read is that Aiyuk wants out of SF and is trying to claim that the 49ers have created some sort of hostile workplace or conspiracy and have violated the contract. Effectively in the early stages of the NFL version of suing for breach-of-contract in order to both get paid and get out. The organization could be publicly establishing that they want Aiyuk and there is no hostility from their end, but that Aiyuk may actually be in breach of his contract.

I really suspect this is all positioning to determine how much Aiyuk gets paid when he leaves.

Lynch and Shannahan seem to be straight shooters who treat people respectfully (#1 and #2 fit into that). Aiyuk seems to be the problem. Getting $25 million voided is obviously a red flag the size of California. I hope he is a big enough fool to get his whole contract voided. The guy is bad news.

edit: I really meant how much it costs to part ways with Aiyuk. No idea how this works in the NFL, but could be positioning to try to reduce the dead money hit?

Interesting angle but Aiyuk didn't fight it with the NFLPA and he's not going after his contract for 2026. He could have showed up to rehab and meetings for the $26M and that's much easier than going to court and tarnishing your name.

Well, I can't disagree with this lol cept Idk if Shanny was hungover/drunk at the SB..earlier that week however, lol. I liked Aiyuk until he became a bit drama, acted like a child who didn't wanna put on his big boy pants and staged a TMZ thing. grow up lol

Ayuk knows the 49ers are not a contender and he's willing to lose 30 Milly to be sent to another team.

That's dedication to winning. The 49ers could learn something from him.
