You have no idea what role, if any, Kyle had in the voiding of the contract. What we do know is that Kyle said it was all business and contract stuff that he has nothing to do with.

What we do know is that BA has implied, rather strongly, that he feels underused on a run first team in San Francisco.

There is absolutely zero rational reason for him to say "yeah, I hate this team so much that I'm just going to go ahead and light $25M on fire just to prove a point."

Something major and specific happened. It's not as simple and broad as "Aiyuk hates the team as much as ninersrule4 clearly does."

BA has always been a bit of a pain. In his rookie year, Shanahan had to get on him hard about his training and practice habits. He did respond but it may be that BA never felt comfortable with Kyle. He accepted them because he knew that was the only path to money. Now he has received a LOT of money, enough that he can raise his middle finger to Shanahan and go his own way, whatever that is.

If he sees this as somehow raising the middle finger to Shannahan he's a nut and very likely in for a rude awakening.

That episode with wearing the wrong color shorts and pushing back against Shanahan, a petty deal, comes pretty close.

I loved him as a player. He was not only a very good route runner, with reliable hands, he was also a very good blocker. However, attitude means so much in a team sport like football that it cannot be excused.

There's no way Aiyuk has been ready to go for awhile. The level of damage he had isn't something you're gonna be able to play with after 10 months post surgery without severe risk of reinjury.

49ers never planned to play BA this season as their goal has been to trade him. Did not want to risk another injury.

Aiyuk, for some time, has believed he is healthy enough to play. And wanted to play again.
