Instead what happened is they decided to move him in a trade and the coach pushed the deal through at the last minute. You had a disagreement about what direction to take and a falling out over it. The player knows the organization isn't bought in, gets injured and loses all value, and there is some level of reorganization of power when it comes to roster decisions.
They did make the decision to pay Aiyuk after missing TC and I would not have. Hindsight is 20/20 but there have been few holdouts through TC that I can recall that were fruitful. Emmitt Smith in the 90's Cowboys dynasties comes to mind. Dude held out, came back 3rd week of the season and DAL never lost another contest. That is rare
