So in exchange for giving Aiyuk $45M and not getting 2nd and 3rd picks from Pittsburgh, the 49ers received 13 catches for less than 200 yards from Aiyuk
Great

Wow bizarre. Time to move on. Will his dead cap money only apply next year then we are free and clear of him?

So can we still trade him? Not sure how this would work since we voided his future contract.

Does this guy have an Antonio Brown brain injury? What an idiot. No team is going to sign this guy for less than the minimum
This checks out.

NOPE!!
I am not saying that Jed is not doing enough. I am saying that there is a hierarchy and I am challenging the notion that what Lynch and Shanahan says should be the end all be all. Paraag is the money guy and if the math aint mathin and players ain't showing up to training camp day 1, the rule should be you play out your deal as is no negotiations and it should not matter if the GM and HC try and butt in. Jed is the owner and he can institute that in his organization if he so chooses. I also said I am just a fan but if I were the owner, that would be my rule

Disaster after disaster with the decision making of this team.
Lol I think most would have resigned. He was a player.. until he missed training camp due to being a diva, then came back sluggish. He was kinda starting to put some heat back on..then poof, his knee snapped in half.
Nobody could have predicted that nasty hit on his leg. But I do wish we traded him to whatever b***h ass team. I think he just stopped giving a s**t after the Superbowl but still wanted to be paid...cause apparently, he is a Lambo. A Lambo that will be on the Vegas Failures

Jed should give the football guys a budget and let them know what the expectations are and let them make the decisions.
This is why GM after GM bowed out of the hiring process in 2017. We want you to be the GM, but Paraag's going to run salary negotiations and roster planning, the analytics department, trades, and we've already picked the coach (who will have final say over the 53 man roster). What exactly does the GM do here?
Math guys don't deal with opinions, they deal with numbers and make budgets work. It is a bad deal when you have a year left on your deal and you cannot fix your money all offseason and then want to hold out during training camp and then expect the team to pay you more money to get on the field not in game shape and at a greater risk to be injured. The team is trying to pay you a year early with a year left on your deal. Lets agree prior to training camp or no negotiating and we tagging dat ass next offseason. The money guy ain't doing draft boards but he is doing deals for all 53 and not just one guy that holds out to hit the field week 1 a shell of himself. Why should we pay for that? Look what we got for 2024 and 2025 with Aiyuk. Feelings be damned but the results on the field speaks volumes juxtaposed to the money shelled out

So this is like a good thing right? Just got off work and reading through the reports but the fact that the Niners are off the hook for a considerable amount of the money he was owed seems like a blessing at this point.

I have said many times. We had a team full of guys that LOST the Super Bowl but then wanted to be paid like champions when they're not! Steve Young expressed these same sentiments himself after we LOST and then guys all wanted money all at the same time as we had a QB that was in MVP consideration playing for pennies! Imagine that

I think very little of what you said here is relevant to the issue.
-It's business as usual for teams to get extensions done with players prior to their final year.
-We could fit this contract in to our cap structure as shown ad nauseam during the negotiation process. Keep in mind the owner wanted to re-set cash spending (has nothing to do with the cap).
This isn't a case of Aiyuk's contract not working within our budget. This is a case about cash spending and who decides what player is worth keeping in our plans.

Wow, Maiocco said that his source told him that the only time the team saw BA workout was before the preseason game in Las Vegas--which he wasn't supposed to do according to NFL rules.
This spiteful dude was trying to get the team in trouble with the league before he left.

Several individuals, including teammates, have reportedly reached out in an effort to bring Aiyuk back into the fold. Still, the receiver has preferred to train early in the morning and leave before others arrive.
Really strange he shows up early only to leave before others arrive and he's even cold shouldering teammates. He must really want out to blow 25M. Dude seemed to be solid with no signs of being a Diva then did a 180 when it was time to get paid he was even born in California I'd think he'd want to stay.

Not surprised. Many thought this team was dumb for folding and giving in to what he wanted after one really good season. And after getting paid he came in out of shape and sync like he did nothing during that span. Gets hurt and now we see how devoted he is to the craft.

You spend CASH to get RESULTS. You should not spend CASH on giving a guy an early raise when you have a year's leverage, that has not prepared all offseason and held out training camp because you very likely to get bad RESULTS (not in football shape and increased likelihood of injury). We talking about relevancy to use your definition. Well I am saying cash has to lead to results and holding out during training camp with a year left expecting me to break bread with you would be a NO GO! And I would tell all agents this up front.
