In 2026, WR will be a massive position of need yet again.

SMFH

To some extent, perhaps, but not as much as you think.

We have Pearsall and Watkins, and that is a great place to start for the future of the WR room.

We won't even get a trade offer for him. Seriously, I wouldn't understand why any team would want him at this point.
So I guess he won't be playing this year….

BA always stood for b***h ass. Great player, but I'll never forget the clips of this dude throwing tantrums off to the side because he wasn't the someone to score while his teammates celebrated a touchdown in 2021.
Always wonder what the real issue(s) is/are.

Why doesn't he want to be with 9ers? Still pissed about his Rookie year? Has a preferred Team? Pure mental issues?

Was he a head case in College?

Ooof lol
Hope this turns the page on how this team deals with holdouts in the future. If a guy is willing to go extremes to get out, just trade them and replace them with people who actually want to be on the team.

This. Dude looked primed to return a few games in during the preseason. I don't know how to feel about the FO for covering it up this long. WHEN exactly did he start skipping meetings and all?
Pure speculation. Nothing more. Aiyuk wanted to come back a month ago. Shanahan declined. The 49ers may have made this decision a long time ago. If they don't put him on the field, they can find a way to trade him to recoup some of the investment they made in him. But by essentially leaving the team, Aiyuk has made his own decision. He's out.

So, why would Shanahan decline to play him? I don't know. Maybe he just wasn't good enough yet. Perhaps the knee injury, which was quite severe, robbed him of the pure speed he once had. Perhaps he and Shanahan got into a screaming match. Which is never a good idea if Shanahan controls the keys to the offense. Who knows what went wrong. But I think we can all guess that something did go terribly wrong.

Watkins hasn't shown anything yet and Pearsall still needs to show he can be the guy.

This likely why the team reshuffled the front office last offseason and basically told Kyle to stick to coaching.

Future hold outs get forced to play or shipped the f**k out.

I hear you, but Watkins doesn't see the field, so we don't really know.
