They both make more of an impact than BA does wherever he goes. BA's shredded knee is done.

I guess I'll be one of the only people here not mad at a player for making sure he's paid what he's worth and then getting injured later. I even thought it would have been smarter for the Niners to trade him at the time. Regardless, clearly some people in the FO didn't want to pay him and preferred trading him, and Kyle pushed the deal through. That's not Aiyuk's fault, and his 'antics' should be weighed against the fact that the organization ultimately didn't want him (at least in my opinion). I'm sure he knew that.

If the shredded knee is really done, doesn't Aiyuk play the role of "team guy" so he at least gets a little of that big contract money? Doesn't make sense.
yeah I don't get what is this about. is it some kind of lack of respect/personal stuff ?

this uncooperation gives the team an out to recoup salary, so its probably a good thing

weird how each prominent WR seems to be leaving the team on bad terms...

So you think that's why he basically quit the team? Pretty short sighted if it's gonna cost him millions to cut his nose off despite his face.

I am sure it will come out at some point. As in "the dirty details."

Nothing has made sense with BA since the Super Bowl.
I wonder if this happened during week 9 when thy were getting ready to open up his practice window. Because all of a sudden he wasn't ready yet. I think the team told him to start getting involved and he said nah. Now he won't see him ever again.

I question whether 'quit the team' is the right description of what's happening here. It's beyond obvious the 49ers wanted to move him last offseason and couldn't because of his injury and resulting lack of interest among other teams.

The 49ers don't want this contract on their books. They haven't since it was signed.

The injury and the drama are two separate things imo. It's not Aiyuk's fault he got injured and I don't think missing TC has anything to do with 3 ligaments getting torn in his knee. I feel bad for him when it comes to the injury.

I don't like the antics. Even if not everyone in the organization wanted him back, Kyle clearly did and who else do you need in your corner in this organization other than Kyle?

No disagreements here, but according to the article, he is the one not going to meetings and all. I'm sure there's more to it than that, but why not at least go to meetings and collect your $? If healthy, why not prove it on the field to become more desirable to other teams?

It's not just about whether he's wanted, it's about getting paid his market value. There's two sides to negotiations and obviously it didn't go well. That's not necessarily all Aiyuk's responsibility, and maybe we should put some focus on the other side given the team's concerted effort to re-set on spending.

Can't say I'm surprised. When Aiyuk said he made the end of the negotiation harder than it had to be was when I was personally done with him. That goes against the team-first mantra that they try to build here. Nobody who wants to be on a team would do something like that.

Aiyuk's best season is probably behind him. It was a mistake by Kyle to nix the trade we had available and he, once again, makes a bad personnel decision which is by far his weak point.

Moving forward, there's a lot we need to figure out when it comes to how we manage personnel. We re-sign the wrong guys for too much money, let our real contributors walk away, throw away first rounders and can't figure out how to field a healthy team for the life of us. We're relying on old vets to be able to compete and we're at the point where we have to get a lot better personnel-wise if there's any hope of ever winning a championship.

Exactly. It would have been good for both him and the team if he participates and able to show he's worthy of the contract post injury. This is not a good outcome for either party. So sad.
Who wants to get rid of him? Not Kyle and John
