It's a face-saving tweet from a front office that still can't quite figure out the public relations game IMO.

Most people are going to be happy (I know you are not). Just let it roll.

Generally yes, but it depends on the terms. I.e. Bosa and Deebo's front loaded contracts make the cap doable for Purdy next year (as an example). Trent's contract will most likely be frontloaded as well. We shall see.

Looks good for Brock this season. Now lock in Trent and Brock might just survive to the playoffs.

I've heard $47m to be paid now thru April.

It depends on the cap accounting. There's a lot of ways to skin this cat of a contract. But yes, he can receive a brinks truck of gold bullion now, and it will reflect on the cap years from now, if it's done right.

So he got his $30 million a year. Well Lynch just f*cked this franchise for good. Now every half-decent talented player on the roster is going to pull this s**t, because they know it will work now. Good job, John!! Gonna start calling him John FLINCH. He's probably going back to broadcasting next year, and doesn't care about the shape he leaves the team in.

Yes, a few guys on here said that was the low deal so it's all good.

No, it's not all good. The 49ers caved and gave in. AND over paid. This sends a really bad message to the rest of the team going forward.

According to Schefter, the 49ers didn't budge at all on Aiyuk's demands and it was Aiyuk that caved.
I would think that after we traded DeForest Buckner because his asking price was too high, I think that did show that our front office is willing to be firm on contract demands.

Historically, this is a front office that always does well with their contracts. I'm not worried at all about how they choose to manage the cap.

Got to listen to NY85, he was right that the 49ers had all the leverage in this case.

The guy who has said that we shouldn't draft great talent in later rounds because they will cost us more money later on? LOL no thanks, I'll pass on listening to anything else he has to say!

Lenoir is going to be tough to extend. After all these high priced contracts. We don't have any money left.

Right. :( And that is the guy that's probably outplayed his current contract the most!

They can absolutely resign Lenior

Lenoir is absolutely gonna be testing the FA market and be gone

They aren't going to be able to sign Purdy, Lenoir, Hufanga, Greenlaw and keep Javon Hargrave. Some or several of those will be gone.

I think that's why they front loaded this contract. That lowers the amount he'll be getting the rest of the way assuming they don't trade him.

Nobody makes more money than the Niners. The franchise just prints cash.

So front loading gtd money is the best way to even out the cap hit.

That doesn't make any sense. The Niners making money or however successful they are has nothing to do with the cap. The cap is the same for everyone.

Greenlaw may be gone earlier if he can't get back to 💯% a la Navarro Bowman.😓

I think it does in the sense that you need to have the available cash.

To be honest though, that one was from Schefter.
Our organization under John Lynch doesn't leak. The Trey Lance draft pick is a clear indicator of that, because no one had any idea who we were picking.
Who knows what contract negotiations were really like... we talk about it, but admittedly, we do have to take the reports with a grain of salt.

well at least he's saying something. He keeps me entertained and coming back to the boards.
If he's paid he better show up game 1 and play like a top paid WR.
Over/under on how quick gets hurt?
The Niners had about $50 million in cap space so they have enough now to handle that big payout. After they extend Purdy there will be less space so they're trying to address that issue now. Plus thye could move someone like Deebo in the off season if they like Pearsall enough.

Our organization 100 percent leaks to their benefit. It's naive to believe otherwise.

This was fed to Schefter by a team who wants people to know they didn't cave and weren't bullied by a player. No one else has any incentive to say this.
