With 17 game regular season, records will be broken sooner than later

Yep, single season record books will be rewritten and the 16 game records will be forgotten like the 14 game records.

Truth

Add to that it's much more of a passing league now then when JR was playing.

Imagine the numbers he's be putting up if he were playing now w/all the rule changes benefiting offenses.

One extra game still doesn't change the fact without longevity you won't even be in the same ballpark of those TD's/Rec yards Rice set.

Exactly, with multiple extra games very few RB's have been able to match or surpass O.J Simpson's single season rushing record.

You're really talking about Eric Dickerson's record but the point still stands.

People can't argue "Jerry Rice did it in a run heavy time of the league and that rules were harder then" and then bring up how Dickerson's record still stands in a pass happy and RB by committee offenses of today that has rules that encourage passing.
Offense is morphing into committees and position-less players. The days of force feeding the ball to one guy are over.

Rice's TD and rec yds records will stand for a very long time.

Over the last 5 years, only once has a player reached the 15 receiving TD's mark. Antonio Brown in 2018. A WR would need to put up 14 straight years of 15 TD's seasons to match Rice.

You could add Don Bradman and Aryton Senna to that list. Simply the best that will ever be.
