I saw Dan Orlovsky's breakdown yesterday. I think he's right.

For the Packers, he said, it's all about never getting to 3rd down. They need to be productive on 1st and 2nd down and never see Dee Ford. He said it's imperative for them to have less than eight 3rd downs (attempts) the entire game.

Just a thought. Maybe GB won't look for quick throws and bootlegs to get 7 yards at a time. Maybe they look to get chunk gains knowing that methodically moving the ball down the field isn't the way to go. Go deep, try to get a flag, trick plays.

That's my guess

Can never get tired of seeing that

finally we have a good counter to this one

I think they try that early in the game, when the threat of run plays is still available. But once our defense showed they can handle the rushing plays like with Minny....

I guess it is all or nothing. But if they drop straight back to throw deep Rodgers will be ended. Only way to beat this team is to have a qb who can break the pocket and still throw it 50 yards back against his body

3 TDs and 2 FGs

Just keep that in mind. I feel like our D can hold them to 14 or less, but Rodgers has some crazy plays ready to go.

Adams will get his, it'll come down to whether or not Jones can get going.

We are dropping 40 plus.

Another thing, lets look at how many points the 49ers defense gave up when intact this year (all key starters playing, not counting DJ Jones):

@ Buccaneers
10 (the Bucs scored 17 total, but their defense accounted for 7)

@ Bengals
17

vs Steelers
20 (the worst the fully entact 'D' gave up this year which is even more impressive when you consider that we had 5 turnovers)

vs Browns
3

@ Rams
7

@ Redskins
0

vs Panthers
13

@ Cardinals***
7 (this one was given an *** because the D gave up 7 in the first half, Kwon was hurt in the 3rd quarter and the D gave up another 18.)

vs Vikings
10

People act like we haven't seen Rodgers against a great defense before. When he was younger against the Harbaugh teams, we let him have it also. Historically he struggles against top notch defenses.

Everybody does.

Nearly every elite D vs. top offenses has won in championship games and Super Bowls.

Agreed. They're going to do a bunch of random stuff to try and sneak in some points. Deep passes, trick plays. A random onside kick or fake punt wouldn't surprise me at all. They know they need to take chances and won't have anything to lose.

So much this. s**t we almost beat him with CJB at qb last year. Rogers isnt some boogeyman we xcant handle. I'd be way more worried about Wilson. Rogers is completely beatable.

That guy sucks too. He picked the Vikings.

And you picked the Niners in games they lost. So, y'all are even.

I don't remember if people really talked about it but really heads up by Warner as well to get his hand in there and make sure Hollister can't get the ball across. Looks like his hand is positioned there in case he was going to try to push it forward.

I'm good with them avoiding 3rd downs assuming they turn the ball over on 1st or 2nd down :)
