Much has been written about OL, DL, RBs, QBs, WRs(individually), LBs, TEs and coaches of all above. A search of "Wide receivers" came up empty. So if i missed it , mods please move to appropriate place. Meantime: We have spent good draft capital plus FA, trades, to bring top flite WRs here. To date the #1WR has seemed elusive...altho perhaps Kyle-ball may not necessarily need a #1. But looking at the TE position, it is obvious that a #1 TE (ok, George was all pro as a rook), but his contribution is massive. So sure it would be great to have such a talent at WR also. OTOH, maybe another TE of equal talent may be what the 9ers really need. The 3 TE looks we saw frequently against Ravens was impressive...and effective, too. So who knows. But, one thing noticeably different in last few games has been the "sudden" moves to get open that just were not there 7-8 games ago. Not sure when this took hold, (it obviously is being taught by WR coaching staff), but the in-out -in move has been on display as of late. Just watching a clip of Bourne in the EZ (in superrdome) where he ran his route, was covered, and then faked and baked to get open while JimmyG kept the play alive by dancing to his left. Sure enough, Bourne broke back toward mid EZ and JG put one up high where only Bourne could get it....we just haven't seen that in recent times. Perhaps WRs are mimicking kittle with the in-out-in moves of #85 plus all the other bakes and shakes he uses to get open. Sanders is good w/ good fakes, and Debo has been using fakes as part of his routes in recent games. Bourne is doing well wth fakes. 6-7 games ago we had more "banana" routes run by WRs which failed to get open ...no surprise there. Frankly we had some talented WRs but they just zoned out when it came to throwing in fakes. Now tho, it seems that our guys have suddenly gotten religion, and are starting to make fakes part of their routes. I don't know why now, nor do i care. But seeing those fakes, good kittle type fakes, is becoming the routine rather than the rarity on WR routes. And as we have seen, the WR are now getting open way more than before. Previously kyle may have worked more on scheme to get open but no reason our WRs couldn't have a fake or two as part of their routes. Kyle has said, "just run the route and you will be open". Most of the time that has happpened. But adding the good fakes also, just increases the chance of a WR getting open. Which brings us to RZ and WRs. I assumed we would once again have problem with RZ this yr. . But nope...kyle came up with a better answer. Score early and often from 20, 30 , 35 yards out as well as inside the 10. The dreaded RZ = no TD myth has crashed and burned. Kyle fixed that by scoring from anywhere on the field , making actual RZ scoring just one of many ways we score. Obvious...but still... Pretty clever. And WRs making good fakes on routes has had a good part to do wth that also.

Cool. I bolded the key words in my post to help you understand my opinion better.

I agree with you Steve. Aiyuk in that offense would of been lights out. Definitely more tds and probably close to 1200-1300 yards.

Do people realize Aiyuk had nobody throwing to him (jimmy was on the field with him for no time) and was injured/COVID for 4 games. So he would of easily broke 1000 yards and imagine if he had cousins the whole year. With defenses stacking 8 in the box for Cook as well as Thielen demanding coverage??? Also, BA had the oppositions best cb on him most of the time. Jefferson did not, a hell of a lot less.

Lamb had Dalton and had to share catches with 2 other very good wrs

Jeudy had 🤮throwing to him

We are a deebo hammy injury away from having a pretty blah WR room IMO.

This was yet another stupid good WR draft class and I'm shocked we didn't even try to use one of our million day 3 picks on a WR smh.

Yeah we dropped the ball for sure on upgrading the WR spot. I laugh so hard at some of the projections people here have for the depth chart.

I will say I like River Cracraft over the likes of Turd/Sanu/Benji Buttons

River Cracraft

They need a legit slot guy...someone like Jamison crowder in a cheap trade would make sense. Elijah Moore is gonna rock that spot in NJ IMO.

Crowder would have to take a massive pay cut or SF would have to give him an extension, but he's a Kyle WR no doubt.

Our depth chart at WR is horrible after the top two guys.

I'm expecting some good WRs will get cut in the upcoming weeks and SF snags one or two. You can't role into 2021 with this...

I still think Yuk will be better. He had a great season last year. Missed a few games and had zero QBs throwing him the ball. Jefferson had the great benefit of having a legitimate QB throwing him the ball. Not taking anything away from Jefferson he's great but IMO Yuk is better.

i sure thought they would do this, I hate for our team to be in the position they were last year.. spending all of last year... HOPING deebo and brandon can be on the field together. HOPING hurd can be the man. HOPING deebo and brandon and kittle will play 17 games. HOPING james can step up.. and yes I am just as guilty.... HOPING benjamin can be a player for us. i am very very underwhelmed by the wide outs overall

we like our guys is a very weak catch phrase if you ask kyle and lynch about our wide outs

here we go,,, where did anyone say we need five pro bowl wide outs.. did i say that... did joe say that.. did 85 say that,,,, no we just said.. and logically so..... our top three are all coming off injuries. and with a deep draft we had just hoped they would spend a day three pick on a nice wide out at least.. we are just saying. logically and calmly.. that it makes us nervous to think we are pushing our chips into the middle of the table on huge question marks like hurd and hoping guys like benjamin can be a player after a year off and hoping some undrafted free agent can be the answer. please research and show us where any of us who are concerned are lobbying for all pro wide outs. i will wait

There isn't much left on the free agent market and I'm not down with watching some of these guys get significant snaps if Deebo gets injured. The third WR could be considered a 'starter' since they get a good amount of snaps.

Crowder is still under contract from what I see on Spotrac. I hope the bolded is true and the front office saw it coming.

The good thing is that if a WR does drop, we finally have Sermon as a work horse RB rather than relying on Wilson and Mostert, who obviously cannot handle a full workload. Not because they are not strong but their running style is extremely tough for their size and how fast they accelerate.
