I don't think Sherfield was signed to compete here and is more of a special teams player. Third WR doesn't necessarily mean the slot WR since it's possible that the third WR comes in and one of Deebo/Aiyuk moves to slot. Is the eventual third WR even on the roster at the moment? Who you got?
I've been pulling for Hurd. I've been a big fan of his ever since his first preseason game. Its his last chance- hope he gets the 3rd WR position. With Lance as QB, it becomes a very versatile pass and run game. Key is Hurd staying healthy.

Of all the options you listed I like Richie James Jr. I have been advocating that he gets more offensive snaps for multiple seasons now. I dont think we will get anything out of a single WR you listed other than him. They are either perennially injured, not NFL players, or both.

Brandon Aiyuk gonna go out there and be the second-best wide receiver from the 2020 NFL draft. The only person ahead of him is Justin Jefferson.

I dont know why but I am not sold on Jefferson and think he will end up the 4th best WR in this class. I have Lamb, Aiyuk and Jeudy ahead of him.

I think you mean the third starting receiver spot. Otherwise, you apparently don't like Deebo or Aiyuk.

He put up more than 1,000 yards in a season Lamb, Aiyuk, and Jeudy didn't do that.

It's gonna be almost Impossible now since we have no first round draft picks to trade away.

We need someone to step up and take the ~40 catches vacated by Bourne's departure. I hope Hurd is healthy, but that's definitely not a given. Sanu knows the system but didn't flash last year. Benjamin is fast but seems limited to me. James seems like the odds-on favorite, but that's a toss up too. Shedfield is another unknown. Same goes for Watkins, Jennings, and several other fringe roster guys.

Someone will emerge. There is enough in the room for someone to emerge. I hope Hurd and James pull it off. Diverse skillsets.
