If you would of told me at the beginning of the season that our first loss wouldn't be until November 11th I would of taken it everytime

No he's not. he made a decision (IMO) that wasn't well founded and which i believe if he had a redo would have done differently . But Don't Say he is gutless. That is one thing he DEFINITELY ISN"T. He takes chances dozens of times per game, but virtually all have worked out well. This one didn't.

Coaches are made by the sum total of their knowledge of the game, and of course, by their decisions. They learn which are good ones and most good coaches learn even more from their bad ones. This was just a bad decision , IMO, which Kyle will learn from. Frankly i think he made the decision too quickly and then regretted it (even before the kick was pull hooked.)

But please don't call our HC gutless. That is the one thing he could never be accused of. We let a W slide by that we should have won, despite no ball catchers, except for Sanders and he went out around halftime. The rest of our ball catchers dropped 9 (NINE) passes. That just shouldn't happen in a NFL game. Jimmy was not razor sharp but most of those passes should have been caught. Also the starting OTs, really should not have played yesterday, but should have practiced another week. I know they gutted it out to play, but the SEA DL was more than they were ready for after 6 weeks of being sidelined.

If you want to vent on something, try WRs. Good Lord they were pitiful.

A+ post

the 20 second drive giving wilson another shot while losing containment on him was the key series. general f**k ups all the way around by a team said by many to be the best team in the nfl

i think they will prove to be the best team in the nfl... and largely because of this game

hope so. its a tougher hill to climb if sanders is out. if kittle is out. if we do not start stopping the run, and if we do not start protecting our qb

The 49ers got jobbed on the 3rd down run in overtime, but overall I think we got a lot of fortunate calls to go our way.

Jimmy had an interception called back on the 3rd play of the game on defensive holding.
Later in that drive there was a very ticky-tacky DPI to extend the drive.
We were gifted a free sack in overtime when Wilson escaped an Armstead sack.
Really questionable unnecessary roughness call on our punt returner late in the game.
Really questionable unnecessary roughness call on a Garoppolo sack.
Two near-interceptions on the final drive of the 4th -- Jimmy got very luck. He looked totally overwhelmed.

Seattle was called for 148 yards in penalties. We only had 66.

Honestly, it was so lopsided, that if the uniforms were switched, someone on this message board would probably go to YouTube and compile all of the stuff into a video, a la the infamous 2013 NFCCG.

We did have some bad breaks. Jimmy fumbled twice on sacks. The dropped pass interception was a backbreaker. However, we also had a pretty fluke fumble TD by Buckner, and the Metcalf fumble at the 2-yard line was a HUGE fluke. Also, Wilson never throws interceptions, and yet he gifted us one in the Red Zone in overtime.

Just really frustrating overall. As bad as our drops were, we had a LOT of things go our way. With the exception of the spot late in overtime (which we did get screwed on), I felt like we had a significant number of breaks go our way.

I agree. Really bad on both ends. I saw about 100 non-holding calls on their whole OL and secondary too. I wasn't a fan of the in-the-grasp call but it is designed to keep the QB safe and Wilson still got the 1st anyhow. I thought Sherman had a P.I. on the slant (veteran no call of course).

The biggest by far was the spot though given the timing of it and forcing a 47 yard FG from the hash the FG kicker wasn't as comfortable with (and the time kept on the clock if he did miss).

But we still should have won. No excuses.

I mean the old rule was first person to score correct?

No it wasn't.

The old rule was the first team to score win, FG or TD. The other team never got a chance.

They changed the rule in after the Saints/Vikings NFC Championship game went into OT. and the Saints won on a FG.

I was surprised when we set up only at the 50 after that INT. I felt like he was running forever.

Then the Mostert spot.

But we did get away with a lot of PI and Wilson abuse calls.

And they got away with a s**t-ton of holding. Point?
Levi's was absolutely electric last night. The Seahawks fan sitting next to me looks over and tells me it's f**ken loud in here

I wish I could replay the video. Kyle was SUPER PISSED he didn't get the first down call after the review and without considering anything else, immediately gave the signal for the kicking team. The reason why Hoodie is so good is because he's ice-cold analytical during most games.

I bet he wants that back either way...run over Tomlinson's side so even if we aren't given the spot, the ball is at the same hash as the previous kick.

It's better than it used to be where a team can win the coin toss, get the ball, and kick a field goal to end it.

Under the old rule if the coin toss winner kicked a FG the other team got the ball but had to score a TD, they couldn't kick a FG and tie it up again. That was a lot more fair. Not sure why they changed it but I guess it had something to do with safety like every other rule change.

Really? I thought they changed it so that teams couldn't win the toss, get the ball, kick a FG and end the game, without the other team ever getting the ball.

I think there were two changes in recent years. You're talking about the rule that was in place for many years where first score in OT wins which is what got a lot of people pissed off.

I'm ok with the current rule but I probably wouldn't be if our defense was trash :D

Shame our replacement kicker couldn't make the game winner.

I know how it used to be (the bolded), can you tell me what was the change to the rules before how it is now? This second rule change that I don't know about.
Our wide receivers couldn't catch a cold if they walked out naked into a New Mexico blizzard.

Without Kittle, our offense is anemic. You could see it in Jimmy G.'s eyes; he was looking for him on every play. Then you could see the mental machinery click, and him deciding, "Oh well, I guess I have to throw it to (insert receiver's name here, and don't overlook Dwelley, who dropped a key pass that was high but Kittle would have come down with)."

Without a passing game, the box gets stacked and the run game withers. The offense begins to look like Denver's. It's not pretty.

Losing a last second game in OT doesn't equal getting embarrassed
