Our run D would be worse, pass D even better. I'll take what we have.

Maybe we get someone at the trade deadline. I saw Quinnen Williams flipping out on his Dline coach 2 weeks ago and thought he might be a trade possibility 🤷‍♂️

Let it go...it was for the best.

Let them ball out, keep our insane depth, and earn a comp pick for 2024 when some of these guys eventually depart. Unless someone is giving us equal or better talent at guard, safety, corner (can never have enough), or TE, im not trading any of those guys.

Only gonna have 8 or 9 at most active. Doesn't make sense to have Hyder or Willis inactive week after week.

Get some pick value in return.

Rotate and go with the hot hand lol. In all seriousness, my post was about not outright cutting anyone. I agree with get some pick value. There are edge guys on our roster that would be a quality backup on many teams and if there are teams whose edge rushers were as bad as ours were from 2015-2018, any of our edge rush cuts would be immediate starters. It really is outstanding how the team improved that position.

There has to be a team needy of DL that we can make a trade with.

If the guys we let go hit the open market that needy team probably won't get any of them.

Well, how about all but Ridgeway…that's 10. But i feel same way about OL Keep 10, but for different reason…there we got almost 5 starters (with Brun at RT) and we have Poe. But West , Jeckelj we need to keep because we are really skinny on OL depth….that assumes McG is out injured for awhile which might end up being lengthy. Problem here is wiht 10 DLs and 10 OLs, who are we going to give short shrift to? Not DBs…we got torched there last yr with a heavy dose of injury. RBs? Cut down to 4? We Got injured there too. LBs? Count them one short? Nope injuries there also. One can go on to each position and same thing applies. This is what a HC gets paid for, and same goes for JL.

All fair points. If it came down to it, I'm offering Ridgeway and Willis up for trade. I think Hyder has little to no trade value because of his age and likely has seen his last big contract (with Seattle), so I don't see us getting much in terms of a comp pick. Hyder however would have value on the Jets and maybe the Dolphins (assuming McDaniel wants to run the same system). It just seems crazy that we could potentially give away edge rushers when we were devoid of them for so long.

P.S. I forgot about practice squad. I'm keeping 10 and I'd put Hyder there if no one would trade for him.

well, here we were talking about who to cut on August 28th, and i sure am glad we didn't cut my suggestion, Ridgeway. Lifelong's magnificent 11 was no joke. Now that we have Kin nicked and same for Arik, unhhh,,,,kinda glad we got such incredible depth, and not just at IDL but Edge also.

Having the advantage of 8-10 starters/rotation guys, means our DL is almost always fresh, thus giving us a huge advantage in 2nd half when opponent's OL wears down.
A little worried about the depth of this unit, specifically the interior. We already lost 3 starters on the inside with Hurst, Kinlaw and now AA.

Not counting on much from Kinlaw but hopefully AA can avoid the IL and play vs the Chiefs. Knowing how conservative the team is with injuries, I bet he won't be back til after the bye though.

Why? The whole point of this defensive line is how much f**king depth there is. All the backups could be an entire starting Dline for half the other teams in the league.

At some point the depth gets depleted, that's the concern.

Cant do anything about that. I think if this happened to 31 other teams, they would be getting run on like the 2016 49ers. But no team is built to sustain injuries at this rate- except us lol.
Ebukam missed practice with an Achilles. Hopefully guys get healthy in the next few days or weeks b/c we will face some better offenses. So far Seattle is the best offense we have faced. Competition has been pretty weak. And without rotating in with the starters these guys will start looking like back ups.
Our entire starting DL is out. SMFH.
If our entire starting dline is out offense is going to need to pick up this win. ATL plays hard and has covered the spread all year, this is not a given. Can't lose this game with KC coming up

Fuuuuck

I fear what our DL will look like without Bosa and Ebukam.

Well, we know what it looks like without Kinlaw and AA inside...only 54 yards for CMC.

Time for Jackson, Turray and Hyder to step up with Charles Omenihu inside on 3rd downs. Ridgeway, Spence & Givens can hold it down inside.

We'll be alright.

PS: Ebukam is just sore from the turf, per report. Nothing serious.
