If the guys we let go hit the open market that needy team probably won't get any of them.

Id keep every last one. No way I'm cutting any of the Magnificent 11- Bosa, Ebukam, Jackson, Turray, Hyder, Willis, Armstead, Kinlaw, Givens, Omenihu, and Ridgeway. Cut no one. Let them ball out, keep our insane depth, and earn a comp pick for 2024 when some of these guys eventually depart. Unless someone is giving us equal or better talent at guard, safety, corner (can never have enough), or TE, im not trading any of those guys.

Only gonna have 8 or 9 at most active. Doesn't make sense to have Hyder or Willis inactive week after week.

Get some pick value in return.

Well, how about all but Ridgeway…that's 10. But i feel same way about OL Keep 10, but for different reason…there we got almost 5 starters (with Brun at RT) and we have Poe. But West , Jeckelj we need to keep because we are really skinny on OL depth….that assumes McG is out injured for awhile which might end up being lengthy. Problem here is wiht 10 DLs and 10 OLs, who are we going to give short shrift to? Not DBs…we got torched there last yr with a heavy dose of injury. RBs? Cut down to 4? We Got injured there too. LBs? Count them one short? Nope injuries there also. One can go on to each position and same thing applies. This is what a HC gets paid for, and same goes for JL.

Rotate and go with the hot hand lol. In all seriousness, my post was about not outright cutting anyone. I agree with get some pick value. There are edge guys on our roster that would be a quality backup on many teams and if there are teams whose edge rushers were as bad as ours were from 2015-2018, any of our edge rush cuts would be immediate starters. It really is outstanding how the team improved that position.

All fair points. If it came down to it, I'm offering Ridgeway and Willis up for trade. I think Hyder has little to no trade value because of his age and likely has seen his last big contract (with Seattle), so I don't see us getting much in terms of a comp pick. Hyder however would have value on the Jets and maybe the Dolphins (assuming McDaniel wants to run the same system). It just seems crazy that we could potentially give away edge rushers when we were devoid of them for so long.

P.S. I forgot about practice squad. I'm keeping 10 and I'd put Hyder there if no one would trade for him.

We need these guys to step it up. They disappeared in the 2nd half.
This was a great group rush. A perfect example of everyone doing their job and caging in the QB. AA gets the center, so he's the overlapper and takes 2; Kinlaw has the 2-way go and wins with a bull-pull-swim move; Bosa and Samson rush on the same level with Ebukam getting home first. Samson must be a b***h to deal with as tackle. Dude is strong as hell and consistently gets underneath tackle's pad with his natural leverage of being 6'1". Nice job of rushing half man on the tackle.

^^ Nice play. Ebukam has a Elvis Dumervil type of game and that can be problematic for really tall OTs. Elvis had an insane getoff though. Teams are going to double AA so Kinlaw, or whoever if next to AA, needs to capitalize. It looks as though Kinlaw is getting the nod as the primary nickel DT rusher with AA. It wasn't until Kinlaw rolled his ankle that Omenihu got into the nickel package.
Lost D.J. Jones. Arik Armstead goes down. Javon Kinlaw goes down.

Doesn't matter: Charles Omenihu, Hassan Ridgeway & Kevin Givens. Kerry Hyder can play inside too and they also have Akeem Spence on the PS.

Well done IDL and Kocurek!

Yea Ridgeway and Givens held it down.
Sounds like AA has an ankle injury and PF on the same foot. Kinlaw, well.

Good thing they worked Omenihu inside this off season. Givens and Ridgeway are it. Might bring up Akeem Spence.

Omenihu has been an absolute beast rushing from inside. It sucks that Kinlaw got hurt, but we're a better pass rushing team without him.

Truth!
I'm not really holding out hope for Kinlaw but hopefully AA can get right by the Chiefs game. I think we can beat CAR and ATL without him.
Damn. Watching Buckner play tonight and imagining what this defensive line could look like if he were still here. What a shame he's being wasted in Indianapolis.

Ya, he's been solid so far.
