I thought Drake Jackson and Robert Beal were supposed to be those guys .

I forgot all about Jackson. What a disappointment

Yup. 49ers haven't ignored Dline. They just have very little to show for their investment. I think we need to look at more ready made guys.

Knee injury.
I was really hoping we would set Beal out wide & let him get after the QB with his speed

Jackson had 2022 and most of 2023. The knee injury isn't the reason he hasn't panned out.

Don't agree. 2022 was his rookie season, so low expectations there. He missed, I believe, half of 2023 as well as training camp and the whole of 2024. That isn't to say that he certainly would have broken through without the injury, but I think it is too early to write him off.
Drake Jackson just flat-out stinks. He has literally shown nothing in 3 seasons. People were losing their minds over the season opener against the Steelers, but those of us who were paying attention knew that he was basically hand gifted 3 low-quality sacks. I told y'all after game 1 his performance was unsustainable.

The dude still is weak at the point of attack despite gaining weight and being in an NFL weight room for multiple years. I said in the offseason coming into the 2023 season that I thought it looked like he put on bad weight, and that's what showed up on the field. His skill as a pass rusher(hand technique, placement, and timing+pass rush plan) is as bad as it was coming of college. The guy struggles to implement a rush plan, and I don't think he knows what a counter is. He throws out arm tackles and isn't very physical in general.

The 49ers need to move on. It's a whiffed pick. It's fine as long as they move on and keep looking to find the right players.

Low expectations for a 2nd round pick? I think he was picked 61, which makes him a top 100 pick. I dont think he needed to be Reggie White, but I'm sorry, you cannot have low expectations for a guy picked 61st overall. A top 100 edge rusher should be able to contribute, something in year one. Id give a pass to a QB and OL. A couple other positions. Not DE. I'm not totally writing him off, but to show very little in like 20 games- it isn't looking good.
is Khalia Davis still with us?

I'm torn on trading 1.11 for a vet or keeping the pick.

Imagine we can rebuild the line in one year and make it a dominant, game wrecking force again in one offseason. Crosby is a DOG!

Trade 1.11 to LV for Maxx Crosby, 3.73 and 5.144
2.43- TJ Sanders, DT- South Carolina
3.73- Anthony Belton, OT- NC State
3.99- JJ Pegues, NT- Ole Miss

DE- Maxx Crosby / Yetur Gross Matos
NT- JJ Pegues / Evan Anderson
3T- Maliek Collins / TJ Sanders
DE- Nick Bosa / Leonard Floyd

That sure is tempting. Especially with the SB in Santa Clara this year
