Yeah, in retrospect I was venting. It just gets annoying how those that are more pessimistic often have this attitude that anyone more hopeful is somehow dumb. We are all sitting around prognosticating a game with literally hundreds of thousands of variables. Just because I envision us winning a couple more games than the next guy doesn't mean I'm any less informed. I thought that was what we all wanted to see: the 49ers winning games.
To try and come back to topic, the whole idea of "hype" generally seems to bother fans much more than the actual team. I can tell this team is hungry. John and Kyle in their third year, Jimmy after the injury, all the way to the young DBs everyone's worried about. I think they're a really cohesive and hungry team with most of the right pieces now. That's what I think, and we all know the talking heads—or however we're defining "hype"—can't tell the future any better than we can
All good my friend. I completely understand. I get it. Fully.
Yeah, as to the topic, you're so right. There are a million variables that come in to play every year. We've learned that the Seattle win had zero momentum to the next game let alone this upcoming season. We've seen extremes from worst to first, from healthiest to least, a new FQB emerges while another falls off a cliff.
If you guessed 12 wins, that could end up being as valid as someone who said 4.
Just make sure to note it in the PYMWYMI thread so you get full credit later!
