Are the Niners overhyped

I don't agree. The impact of signing Harbaugh was very significant. Only fan sites underestimated the team and only the media were surprised. Both the best and the worst is always ahead, if you look far enough. I think this should be a good season, though. Entertaining. Although I am not suggesting silverware.

Our best year was our first year with Harbaugh? You must be young if that is what you think. Also, outside of the West Coast, I'm not hearing much hype for the niners.

They are hugely over hyped. They have been a bad losing team for the most part for years in a row. Until you prove otherwise the hype means nothing. You have to show it on the field. They are relying on a fragile often injured QB and 2 fragile often injured pass rushers. Any of which could go down or all of which could go down. They have not shown much ability to stay healthy. Their secondary is not very good and hasn't been improved much.

We will see. I would like to see them get better. But they haven't proven anything yet. Let it play out on the field first for a while and then you will know what we have.

If you have to wait until you get proof it is hardly a discussion.

If you mean overhyped by Niner fans, pretty much every team is overhyped by its fan base.

In the national conversation about the NFC West, the Niners are 3rd mention.
We've got hardware problems.
We've got software problems.
No one is picking this team to do jack.

You guys who say the team is overhyped, please explain how so. Or is it just that you always have to be the negative types. No one is picking them to win the Superbowl that I have heard. Most pundits have the niners finishing third in the division

I think a large part of the fan base on this forum has overhyped expectations. Otherwise I'm with NCommand.

nope. we are correctly rated as a fringe playoff contender with a tough schedule to navigate to get there

This is spot on. There's little or no national hype for the Niners and at this time of year every fan base, including the Niner's, thinks their team has greatly improved and will go on to great things.
