No two ways about it, The D.
Anyone who didn't listen to the Joe woods interview and the Kocurek interview, you should. Very enlightening. You can tell what you are going to see on the DL, and same for the DBs. You just have to feel good about the D this yr. Warner you know, but Kwon will be fun to see.
With JimmyG, it all boils down to HEALTH. If ok, you know what to expect. But with Kittle, Brieda, Coleman, (Maybe jet), Toilolo ,(and i bet Kaden), Au Jus, and deeBo and Hurd, you have to know what we will be seeing on O with the best , brainiest, zaniest OC in the league....it will be yr when during the game you don't want to leave your seat to use the bathroom. Just too much you can miss in the meantime.
But as white hot as the O will be, still, it is the D that i can't wait for. On O i know what to expect....brilliance. On D, it will be a pleasant surprise.
Pretty much exactly how I feel...well said
Nothing better than an exciting offense, but for this team this year especially, the defense will determine whether it's a playoff team or not. That's why I picked the defense.
In order...defense(how good=playoffs/not)
Special teams(need more fakes/pin teams deep)
Offense(new weapons/wrinkles=dynamic)(most confidence with coach)
Ofcourse health will play the biggest part, we'll see
Agree with all above.
Regular ST play ... pinning deep, prevent returns etc plays into how/where the D starts. Want to see the D be over the top aggressive when inside 5-10.
If Mitch is given freedom to run impromptu fakes and puts the Offense back on the field from time to time it will keep the Defense fresher.
Then the Offense can be whatever Kyle wants it to be.
Thing is, if all produce near expectations, team won't be fully reliant on one sector.

Offense, with Jimmy coming back and Coleman in the back field with new WRs.

Nothing worse than watching my 49ers get punk'd on defense. Watching teams march up and down the field, embarrassing us.

With how heavily we've invested in our D this offseason it's an easy answer

Defense by far. A big jump in QB pressures and sacks from the DL. A secondary with good coaching not flailing around back there. Interceptions. Cohesive aggressive play in the middle. Acorn finally getting his ish together in a prove it or loose it season.
Finishing games.
Feeling like a 4 point lead in the 4th can be a path to victory.
Yeah. Defense.
Lott, Dean and Hacksaw.
The Smith Brothers, Bo and Willis. That kind of thing again.

Looking forward to more? The offense of course. Had to basically wait a whole extra year to see Jimmy, plus all the new weapons—Deebo and Pettis are gonna be our best WR duo in a long time and we have a beast in Kittle and half a dozen other good pieces. They're going to be sick as long as we're relatively healthy.
But I also have more faith in the offense, so I'm more concerned about the defense. I do think we weren't as bad as people think last year. Obviously it'll be really exciting to finally have a sick pass rush. Bosa and Ford is a way bigger upgrade than I think any of us could have realistically asked for in the middle of last season! s**t I'm really excited about the whole team this year. Seems like a lot of people sleeping on us on this board right now but it'll come around

It want to see the bloodied pulp that used to be an opposing quarterback once our new look D-line is unleashed upon them.

I hope they all make each other better in the ultimate team game.
It's all about the Defense this year. I want to see them close out games and have strong 4th quarters. I want to see Sherm and company returning INT's for 6. I want to see a +++++turnover margin and I want to see us planting every QB we face 3' into the turf with Debo, Bosa and a Ford running them over each time.
I want to see the return of the high five on DL and the new sack dances I want to see 3 and outs. If this defense produces only half of what it has the potential to produce, couple that with this O and we can easily expect 30+ scores throughout this year...But first I just want to see them show up in the 4th!!!

Lots of responses saying defense, but offense is in the lead. I'm going offense. Got to see a good defense during the Harbaugh years. Last time I saw a good 49er offense was uhhh...
Defense got a huge boost on the DL, but the offense will have a gigantic boost from getting Jimmy back, speed and youth at all skill positions, and the best play caller in the NFL. This franchise made a name for itself by being one step ahead of the league's defenses. I'm excited to see them start working their way back to being that caliber of offense.

Seems like Kyle finally getting all his ducks in a row coming into 2019. And like all of us, he sounds like he's worrying about the injuries wrecking his ducks.
