Something I haven't seen reported anywhere is if there's been any variation to Nick Bosa's stance in Morris' defense. Bosa has always had a very unique(unorthodox tbh) and aggressive 3-point stance. I wonder how much we're going to see Bosa standing up and how it'll affect his game.

49ers basically pushed most of Nick's money back by the looks of it so he's likely looking to have some guarantees put in. I don't like it but I also understand it.

IMO they'd be dumb to move Bosa to a stand up rusher. He's an all pro difference maker with his hand in the dirt and you shouldn't try to mess with that.

And i'm not really concerned with him missing practice. Trent Williams did this all throughout his career and he performed just fine. Plus its not like he's doing sitting at home. He's at the facility training. He's also coming off a major injury. Don't want him to come back too soon.

I mean if they're committed to playing a 5-man front, you have to stand him up at least sometimes. You can't present the threat of ambiguity, create confusion for the OL, and mess with pass protections if it's obvious the end is rushing every time with his hand in the dirt. You negate the element of rush and drop without him standing up. Standing him up gives Morris more flexibility with his alignment and lets him move Bosa around, change the point of attack, and create different pressure looks without necessarily changing personnel. It can force the OL to hesitate on who they're responsible for and whether he's actually coming or dropping.

I'm sure he'll play out of his traditional 3-point stance more often than not because that's still going to be the best way to let him attack the edge and get after the QB. But I'd be surprised if we don't see Bosa standing up at least a little bit, especially when Morris is trying to manufacture some of that 5-man-front ambiguity.

Everything depends on the details. Does Bosa want another massive extension? That's problematic for a guy coming off his 3rd acl tear. Does he want some money moved around? More guaranteed? Those are things you can probably work with. At this point, it'd be difficult to justify a massive extension for the guy.

A extension right now would actually help the 49ers since next year Nick's cap hit blooms to 50+ mil... so it does make sense for a extension to be done lol... That being said, I doubt hes holding out for a new contract and now isn't the time lol...

Not interested in extending bosa but we're kind of in a pickle after restructuring. We either extend him or get absolutely railed on his cap #s coming up.

We're not paying him $50m next year. Restructure next year, if he still has two knees.

This guy has done pretty much nothing since 2022 and 23 and now wants a new deal.

A healthy Bosa season and he can ask for just about anything bc that most likely results in championship caliber team IMO . Right now , makes everyone nervous
