It's not nonsense. How did he do in the last SB in overtime with the game on the line?

But the coach told me to, such a ridiculous narrative.

Had Burford done what the coach told him to, Chris Jones is blocked.

This isnt the Burford thread.

I think you missed the point. You want Bosa to go against what he's been coached to do and feel we gave up runs to Mahommes as a result. Yet Burford goes against his assignment and leaves Jones as a free rusher. Do you want players to freelance or not?

Scrape exchange is a hard concept to comprehend.

To me it ensures every man is accounted for so long as people carry out their assignments. When people break off, that's how you find wide open guys, busted coverages, and get gashed.

If these really are his cap hits the next few years, he needs to stay healthy and step up his game or 49ers need to redo his deal....
I'm not mad he got paid because he was DPOY and he wanted to get paid early and paid like it. My problem was he wanted to be paid well above Aaron Donald money, who happened to be a champion, when he wasn't. He held out throughout training camp then came back a shell of himself. They saw their family has a history of being hard negotiators but they also have a history of not being the most durable as well. It's ultimately good we resigned him but we can't keep doing deals for guys that hold out into training camp rewarding them early but then reporting late to be a lesser player to start the season than what we've paid them to be

If we are gonna pay them, let's get it done early in the offseason like we did Brock

Or Cut/Trade him. He's going to be 29 next year with his second major knee injury as a pro. He's the type of guy Walsh would ship out asap as the value is still high before the decline hits.

Ok, what type of draft capital would you expect us to get for him? Also, would you trade him for Justin Jefferson straight up?

His brother declined pretty fast after injuries and aging, is it expected that this will be the case for Nick?

I bet you could find someone willing to give up a couple 1st round picks for him today....27' offseason who knows, or a star player in exchange.

We can say this....his numbers are declining. He's had more seasons under 10 sacks than at or over in his career. At this point his current deal dictates a need for production to justify the numbers. At some point it will be clear to the rest of the league that he's entering the back end of his career and we will end up either stuck with an overpaid player or recouping less value than we should.

One thing this team has been bad at is knowing when to move a guy and recoup the best value for their talent "BEFORE" they decline. Walsh developed a 20 year dynasty because he was generally right about when to refresh the roster.
We just witnessed an entire season of what the Niners Dline is without Bosa and it wasn't pretty. Yet people want to trade him. And the argument is going to be "Well just replace him" As if that's a guarantee. The draft is a crapshoot, So you can't depend on that. And any free agent or somebody you could trade for that is on Bosa's level is going to cost just as much as him.

Trade him and take a massive dead cap hit.*
Trading away Nick Bosa is insanity given the state of the defensive line and this team's draft history. They've literally proven they can't draft pass rushers other than the easiest pick that was teed up for them in Bosa, and people want to trade away the only one they've got.

Ya it's stupid takes where they just don't understand the ramifications.
I would restructure his contract. He in a way owes us something anyways since he got paid last year and pretty much missed the entire season. Seems fair.

That's not how a restructure works lol...

Well whatever the case may be, Bosa does owe the 49ers something because he got paid and was injured the entire season. Outside of legal and contract stuff you wonder if some players take that stuff into consideration.

Sort of like how Brock "owes" us in a way for missing half of the season after getting paid.
