How did WRs go from $10 million per year to $20-$25 million per year in one jump? How did they get more valuable overnight? I like Deebo but the truth is he's a unique receiver but not a great route runner. His YAC is what makes him good. There are lots of good receivers coming out of college every year and I would rather draft another guy than overpay for one on the roster. You can't have 40% of your salary cap eaten up by 4 or 5 players. Bosa is going to get at least $25 million so that would be almost 25% of the cap for just 2 players. Neither of them a QB.

I read Bosa may get 30.
I've been joking around with my posts, but I'd argue deebo is a huge locker room guy. Even if we were offered the bank for him I think he's that guy you just pay because he's too valuable on and off the field.

Notice the good front offices ( Chiefs and Packers) are not over paying WRs and the bad FOS are
you can't pay everybody top dollar at their position.
he's only really had one good season
Let him get overpaid but let someone else do it
Just my opinion

The cap didn't go up that much. They more than doubled their salaries while the cap only went up a little. WRs shouldn't take up that much of your cap. Teams that pay too much to a few players usually end up in cap hell. They can't retain enough players to stay competitive and they end up trading the high priced guys.

Deebo still has 1 more year on his contract. If he gets a new contract, it'll be at a discount. 49ers have no incentive to give him a big contract this year otherwise. So he can either compromise and make some extra cash this year or he can put it all on the line this season and get paid that top 5 contract if he duplicates this season and stays healthy.

It didnt go up much? It was the biggest jump ever by almost 10 million. 25 million jump in one year is crazy. 2006 it jumped 16 million was the biggest previous. What NFL are you watching?

The 49ers have plenty of incentive: notably, the incentive to not burn the bridge.

Deebo playing games with his social media is a bad sign. I really don't like this game of chicken that they're playing. Dump Jimmy and Pay Deebo. The whole reason we got Trey is to keep a great team together to win championships. This is one of those situations

If the niners don't extend Deebo, this offseason will go down as the beggining of the end of the Shanahan era. Pay the man his money now. They already have botched the Jimmy G situation, and anyone with have eyes knows that Deebo is worth every penny of what the top receivers are getting in this market. All this one year of production talk is crazy. Deebo is the most unique offensive player in the NFL. Stop p##sy footing around and pay the man. Every fan in here ought to want Deebo paid. None of this money is these so called fans money to spend, don't understand all the hate in here for a player that has put his body and soul on the line every week for the San Francisco 49ers. What a bunch of crazy talk this is about trading the best offensive weapon on this team while the Rams continue to load up on every high price free agent that comes on the market in order to better a super bowl championship team and we sit and debate whether or not to pay our own superstar. Unbelievable !!!

That's why I've always believed the 9ers should be patient In handing out big contracts, especially to someone who's had one great season. Let's see If he ( Deebo ) can have another productive year first. No harm In being patient, regardless of Deebo acting like a spoilt child. Imagine the fans reaction If we gave him a HUGE contact and he pulls his hamstring again. It's not like he's going anywhere fast anyway, not unless the 9ers do something crazy.

Or Lynch & Kyle can extend their beloved Jimmy G with a back loaded $200 million contract to open up cap space now so that they can keep Jimmy and we can keep the guys responsible for us winning (Deebo/Bosa).
