He's not making big money. Contract is one year only meaning he can be cut if he's not playing well or gets lazy. I can't see why anyone would want a trade and have to meet a new locker room full of new teammates and system but some just have to learn.

I don't think it's silly to be upset at him. He got paid, changed his number to #1, half assed his conditioning then blamed Kyle/Purdy for his lack of production and couldn't even honor the contract he swindled us for. I'm glad he's back but that's some straight b!tch behavior

Maybe. But he went to a dysfunctional organization and saw it wasn't too bad where he was before. Deebo has been a great Niner, 2021 was one of the best individual seasons from a player I've ever seen. It hasn't always been pretty, the 2021 holdout was annoying (Boy Scout compared to Aiyuk) and 2024 was frustrating for the whole team. Him having a "give me the ball" moment after SF blew out the Bears just for him lay an egg the next game vs LA was pathetic. Still, it looks like there's no hard feelings between him in the team, that was evident when he was clubbing it up with them and Jed earlier in the year.

I've always liked Deebo's size, speed, and althleticism. I just hope he's improved his conditioning and route running. Looking back at the Rams game, I think he's done both and the future looks bright. Especially with Mike Evans and CMC drawing attention away from him. Sucks that we lost Pearsall, but hopefully we can get him back next year and he hasn't lost too much athletcism because of his injuries.

He is an unbelievable security blanket for check downs, sweeps, and if anything happens to McCaffrey….he replaces that valuable check down option, not to mention he is still easily top 10 in YAC and top 3 in breaking tackles. He can return kickoffs and possibly even punts. Not to mention the attitude he brings, if he has one big play or one broken tackle the whole team gets jacked up on offense and defense. He's going to be a game changer for us this year and one of the reasons I'm not too worried about losing Stribling for a while. Same with DeMarcus Robinson. That go route was nuts. He blew past the LA secondary

Did Deebo screw himself by requesting a trade from us? How much would he be making this season if he was under his original contract or would that contract have expired last year?

Seems like he left with a high cap number.

I recall he didn't have guarantees last year and was effectively up for a new contract. My guess is 9ers didn't offer what he was seeking so he decided to try somewhere else. After a prove it year in Washington, he didn't get a big offer to return, hence free agency. Jauan and Deebo both priced themselves out of the market. Aiyuk took the money and ran.

Yeah, Aiyuk swindled Kyle on that one. I hope if a WR is giving fits in a contract negotiation, Kyle will be smarter and just let him go/trade him and be done with it before training camp begins. I like how Kyle handled Deebo's situation by trading Deebo in March vs waiting on Aiyuk till training camp and then not pulling the trigger.
