Loved his 2017 season and his film with the Pats. This season he looked like a deer in the highlights more often than not in the RZ, and the pick that should've lost us the Lions game was just awful.
Hopefully that was him trying to absorb the whole playbook

He will be 28 next year so predicting he will play until he's 38 is a big stretch. Physically, the questions are how he will play after knee surgery. Will he lose any mobility-- which is important since he is slow afoot. Also, can he stay healthy as he does have a history of injuries over limited playing time the last 5 years?
The next question is whether he will progress as a QB. Last year before the injury, he seemed to regress from the prior year. No doubt he has talent with a quick release and a good arm. But whether he can become an elite, or even very good QB remains to be seen.

10 years? No, but almost.
Starter for next 5+ years? Yes.
Could we win a SB with him? Yes. Maybe more....
I believe he'll have a fine career with the Niners (7-9 years)... don't ask me why, I'm just ****ing around here.
Eventually, he'll retire from football to carry on with his lifetime dream of becoming the biggest mogul of the porn industry / nude magazines... surpassing Hugh Hefner, Larry Hustler, John Holmes, Ron Jeremy and all that porn stuff

Not if the front office continues to be aggressively prudent BS in the offseason, they're gonna get him killed.

The outstanding development of 2nd year players and rookies.
The signing / releasing of agents who never played a down for us.
Turning a Stanford olineman into an every position killing machine.
Turning Tackles into Strong Safeties and DBs into pass rushers. YOU DON"T LIKE THAT?!
Flying kicks, belly rubs, 4th qtr fist pumps when losing by 30+ pts, injury prone guys, Lil Wayne, etc. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?!!

Nope. Our luck is s**t and hes had two injuries in 10 starts. And because he was out this year he's a year behind in his development.
I think if he can stay healthy and our talent acquisition gets better then he'll be good, but I expect a lot more bumps along the way.

LOL, I know, right? Seriously, if they continue with "I like our guys", Jimmy won't last. He's nobody to throw to. Then he runs out of the pocket to make play and blows out his knee. He's got no business doing that, but that's what a desperate quarterback does when he has no weapons. I hold the front office responsible.

Anything can happen in today's NFL. I don't think you can plan for anyone to be around for 10 years at this point.
Anyone think these guys would be out of the league or off their teams this fast:
Reuben Foster
Kareem Hunt
Aldon Smith
Collin Kaepernick
These guys looked like NFL lifers when on the field. But the NFL now wants choir boys...
To tell you the truth the on-field product in the NFL sucks right now, today's stats are manufactured by rule changes. Lawrence Taylor, and a lot of other Hall of Famer's would have been kicked out of the league in today's NFL. I think Goodell thinks fans want to see choir boys play two hand touch but the ratings say otherwise.
If one of the new start up leagues allows and plays to the violence NFL past I think they will grow in popularity quickly. If I were the major investor in a new football startup league that's the angle I'd go. No player plays without signing a health safety waiver. Players get extreme discretion as to what they feel is an injury.

Completely agree from what I've seen here & with the Pats. You add in the everyday studying & tutelage under Brady & Belichick, along with him continuing to work with Shanahan & master the playbook and I have no doubt he's only going to get better & better in leading this team to many years of success - at least over the next 10 years & hopefully more.
