I would LOVE to find a speedster field general like prime Earl Thomas.

We have 1 boundary corner and 2 nickels, and one of those nickels can't cover

The whole fs/ss talk is weird as in today's NFL you really don't see many single high looks.

Right now for many teams FS and SS is interchangeable.

And while I recognize Mustaphas ability to charge from deep fast, I still don't even know if he's a good box safety like people say he is.

Good box safeties nowadays are extension of linebackers. Good box safeties need to take good angles and not miss tackles. Mustapha doesn't take good angles, he whiffs often trying to make a big hit and it's obvious when the carrier has good quickness and can kind of sidestep Mustapha.

Being a big hitter is not that relevant in today's NFL. Whitner and Kam Chancellor would get flagged every other play and Ronnie Lott would be ejected from every other game. If you don't believe me, what safety in today's NFL are teams scared of getting hit by? Hamilton? Ehh.

Brown is just a lost cause to me. That Brown/Moody/Latu third was such a disaster.
Juan Thornhill was just released. Has 8 INTs over his career. Line him up next to Mustapha and let's go?

*Edit: Forgot about his visit w/ the Niners back in March.

Is this the guy they benched to move Ramsey to safety?

My god.
We need at least one ball hawk out there. We have ZERO! None of them know how to sniff the ball. NONE!!
There aren't a lot of ballhawks on teams that don't generate any pressure with their pass rush.

We could have Ed Reed back there and it wouldn't matter when we're playing tiddlywinks along the defensive line.

Which Ed Reed, 25 year old or 47 year old?

25 year old Ed Reed would've picked off at least two passes already!!

He would've made a difference and we probably win the Tampa game.

People need to stop saying s**t like this!!!

I get it, people are disappointed with the results of the D line... still tho, imagine a dude like Minka or Simmons, not even HOF Ed Reed (he might have 2 now even at 47)

Yup. We might have signed him if not for that injury... he might be having issues again
Hyena looked more like Wild E Coyote the last two games

Rough game
Not having ball hawks on the field is one thing, then you throw in this crap

The worry about Asante is him taking a hard hit right? For his neck?

Maaaaaan let's still sign him.....let him come/ease in on passing downs and let him make business decsions when he needs. I'd rather him take away weapons or make plays than just worry about him being a complete corner. Green used to be better at nickle no? Can move him back there on passing downs if needed.
