If he can get well and help us win, ala Ward, then I got no problem with him.
Right now he's not playing, so all the griping about him is just air.

At least Dee Ford was great in the short time he actually was on the field for us. Richburg hasnt played at a very high level for us at all.

The 49ers need to just do what the Rams did and purge all these bad contracts if they can.

I'm for taking a down year with a bunch of dead $ if it means we're free to get the right players the following season. I wish we could have done that this season.
Rams learned after losing their OL too. They built it back up. And now they're back in 1st place. We can do the same. Purge these crap contacts, bring in young talented resources.

They didn't build anything back up. It's essentially the same OL as last year, except Allen was still dealing with injuries from last year. Literally didn't sign or draft any OL lol

lol
The key was swapping out Gurley for the young backs they have. The threat of the run has opened up the play-action passing and what do you know, they look like the 2017-18 Rams.

Yup. Started getting the run game back on track both in attempts and yardage and scaled back the passing attempts as well.

This is true. It's essentially the same group.
The actual starters are the same five guys.Still, I don't think the 49ers should be passive this offseason.

Les Snead made that abundantly clear after the draft wrapped up, saying there's no doubt the team likes its offensive line heading into the 2020 season.
"Definitely, that's obvious, because we didn't address OL until later," Snead said. "But I think Sean's mentioned it, we've been drafting young players for the last two, three years. Even when Sean mentioned yesterday trading for Austin Corbett, it was just a couple years ago that he was the 33rd pick in the draft and even this year we wouldn't have been able to pick an Austin Corbett."
"We've been adding those players and I've said it many times: Fortunately or unfortunately, a lot of them got to play last year with David Edwards and Bobby Evans, in particular, that got a chance to play when you really were going to spend a year probably developing them as backups," Snead said. "They came in, performed well and then the guys that they replaced are getting healthier. So, we did go into it probably a little different than maybe the outside of our building where, 'OK, hey, it's a major, major glaring weakness the Rams offensive line.' We felt confident that if we continue grooming and developing these players they'd have a chance to become a really solid offensive line."
On one hand, Snead has a point. The team has been drafting and adding linemen for years, and at some point, you have to bet on them to come in and succeed in starting roles. That includes Joseph Noteboom, Brian Allen, Edwards, Evans and Corbett.

Their starters are the exact same group from 2019.
