LOL. Yorks are not going to put money into that. Put your sunscreen on and drink some water. Wear a hat. Is it really that bad? The Bay Area doesn't even get that hot does it? It's not hot like here in Southern CA. I realize the new location is hotter than the Bay old location. But how bad can it be? Maybe I am wrong. IDK about this one. I have never been to the new stadium. But I would like to go at some point eventually.

There's something wrong with the design of that stadium. There are reports that it was a retread design that was intended for candlestick with the breeze. Levis in Santa Clara just absorbs the heat and keeps it trapped, it's also facing the wrong way so you get hit by the sun in early games. Not a fan, always buy my tickets under the shade.

Ive lived in the bay area my whole life and I attended games at Candlestick.I heard about the heat at Levis(I live 10 miuntes away from it) and was thinking people were being pansies...I was wrong..I dont know what it is but the sun just beams at you.Your basically the ant in the magnyfing glass.
its pretty much pansies

The suns side of the stick got hot and if you didn't put sunscreen on you will get burnt.
Levi's is not facing the wrong way. the EZ are North and south, just like the stick

Sit in the sun in any stadium in Aug/Sept and it's going to get hot

People love to complain, it's in our nature. I imagine some would even complain that if they went to heaven it would be too perfect and complain about that

Well this is a discussion board. and stating opinions like facts will get someone to reply

It is a fact if he felt the sun beating down on him at Levi's was more unbearable than the heat in Texas lol. I know you get really defensive if someone says something remotely negative about Levi's , but come on man .
that is not a fact. That does not make the sun over texas cooler than Santa Clara

Ok it's clear you don't understand what it is he's saying . Got it. Moving on.
i got it. Someone is asking for facts on how it is. His statement, is just a statement and not the bible of how the sun is in SC or texas.

I go to every game and some away games.. So instead of stating opinions, i'm actually giving the right assessment so it wont deter someone from going to the game. do you not understand that ?

Quit nitpicking. The weather in San Jose in the summer is terrible. Nothing exciting about 100 degrees. Especially when the sun is shining in your face. It is absolutely rude to not fix it period.

I went to the stadium once. I hated it. Parking sucks. Sitting in candlestick trying to get out was twice as good. We rented an RV to tailgate. Parked in a random parking lot a mile or so away which is already lame. It was 9ner fan parking, yet they tried to get us not to BBQ. When I went the fans didn't know what a touchback was. Or when to shut up, and when to scream. That's just my experience.
My goodness, reading this thread I can tell there are some people that have never been to a game at Levis during the day on the sunny side. I have been twice and it is miserable. No fan should have to pay money to sit through three hours of unpleasantness. This isn't a pansy test. People are literally getting heat stroke. Levi's Stadium has to be one of modern sports biggest design fails. Couple it with the fact that it's two hours from San Francisco and it becomes a monumental fail. Don't get me wrong, The stadium is pretty cool and the experience when you sit on the shaded side is hard to replicate somewhere else. But to say that the issue with the sun and the fans isn't an issue, well you are just being ignorant.

This is true. I have better time at Avaya I watching the s**tty earthquakes.

Levi's is a 45 minute drive from SF, dont be dramatic.

But the heat is a problem. Not sure if its the press boxes that amplify the heat, or just the angle of the stadium.

Somehow I get the feeling that the heat will be more tolerable now that Jimmy Garoppolo is the QB...

idk... The sunny side of Candlestick in September could get pretty damn hot but it wasnt anything some sunscreen and water couldn't fix. I've only been to a night game at Levi's so I havent experienced the high temps there. I have been to a Fresno State game when it was about 95-100 degrees.

Is there a lack of wind? maybe its because Santa Clara is in a valley? I know a breeze can make a 100 degree day waaaay more tolerable.

All of this plus it's not just hot on that side, but the sun is completely in your eyes, making it difficult to see the game. I went to the Titans game in December and it was miserably hot, yet the temperature was only 70 degrees. Maybe "hot" isn't the word, it just feels like a magnifying glass on your skin. I can't even imagine a September game on that side, what a joke.

For the record, I live in San Diego and we routinely have 100 degree days. They are nothing compared to what I felt that day during that game. They need to put up an awning that provides shade over the entire east side.
If 70 degrees feels worse than 100, I don't know how anyone could have predicted that, as it defies any logic.

Perhaps not the heat, but it wouldn't have been been hard to predict the sun being in fans' eyes trying to watch the game. It's ridiculous. It really can't be that difficult/expensive to fix.
I think it's funny how people give their opinion that the heat isn't that bad and it can be dismissed but, the opinion that it's worse than Texas is facts. I've been there about 4-5 times now. Had a great experience every time. I did sit in the non shaded section at least twice. The sun for me was an after thought. I've lived in Northern Cali my whole life. If you aren't constantly indoors with the A.C. pushing hard then you know exactly what Levis is like.

Edit: That article was of a man who had a heart attack at the stadium. It specifically said that there was no evidence of the heat being a factor.

And it's not full proof, unless you cover the entire stadium

Like I said earlier, it's hot if youre in the sun at any stadium

The proof is in the pudding. There's a reason why the sunny side sits empty on gameday.

Definitely a flawed stadium, and watching football on tv whenever commentators discuss stadiums (like this past year a lot of discussion about Viking stadium) they always makes comparisons to Jerry's world, Arizona etc. but NEVER have I heard anyone make a comparison to our epic failure of a field.

The design is horrible. The grass is horrible. The location is horrible. Yorks f**ked up on this.

Doesnt seem to be an issue with other fanbases and their stadiums. Miami (ancient stadium) put shades in. Face it...Levi's is trash.

Not a problem?

Have you been to Hard Rock?

I went to our last game there. Had the sun beating down us (visitor side) the whole game with humidity in December! But I know what happens when you sit in the sun at games so I prepare

The shade tarps they had did make it a great greenhouse tho
