When should we start Beathard?

And one that is going to be playing at his highest potential at day one, while another guy (Beathard or a draft pick or both) are learning underneath him. To me, you can't beat that option. We've got holes at probably both guard spots, center, receiver, and corner. You can fill most of those holes with high draft picks in year one with a scenario like that. All of them, and then some in two years.

I'm also hoping for a FQB and a POWERFUL OL in next draft/FA.

No need to start the young guy for now.. what we need to do is sit down and spend more time trying to put a GAME PLAN... we had a chance to beat Seattle but offensive play calling was so terrible, that we let Seattle hang around and take over the game late..

We need to use this small receivers all over the field.. running drag routes and crossing routes all over the field..

i really would like to get cousins who can step in right away. a rookie hotshot is a real risk. what would be so tragic about getting cousins and then spend that number one pick on a great playmaker for kirk or a elite offensive lineman for doc to play with . he is right that the o line needs major help and who knows if staley will be around next year

Cc, don't want to spoil your beginnings of a positve outlook, but 2 things re: our FR QB.
First was most folks favorite...Darnold vs U of Texas (I'm a HORN alum), and the UT QB, Ehlinger who did not have a good game, rookie freshman, outplayed Darnold...and unfortunately i got to watch him 4 3/4 hours. Darnold...best i can say aobut him is....,is he REALLY going to declare for draft? Wow, he is NOT READY for NFL.
2nd was Cousins....who had a terrible first game, and then last weekend, played better. Was he great? Was he good? Well, no and yes. But FR QB, that just jumps off the page at you? No.

So that leaves 3 or 4 highly touted QBs from college next yr. Man I sure hope they are loads better than Darnold. Because if he's our FR QB, then we are in trouble. Now, long time between now and then, but right now....Darnold looks nowhere near ready for NFL. Ouch!

Unfortunately, those are the top two picks currently being touted, and altho i can't speak for Rosen, or the kid from WYO, the first two don't pass muster, one being Cousins. I sure hope he had two bad games at start of yr and now picks it up. But not a good start for your FR QB.

Umm, I honestly don't mean to offend you but I'm really struggling to understand this post.

. . . In any event I get that Hoyer is a place-holder but if his play continues as-is C.J. Beathard will become more popular. I don't think the fans realistically expect more than 5 or 6 wins this season. But nobody wants to see bad QB play when there are options to consider. Just saying.

I don't see him starting this season unless Hoyer is hurt but I voted last 3 games because I would love to see what he could do heading into next season.

I'm sure the coaches don't need to see that since they see him at practice/meetings and such but the selfish part of me wants to see him out there.
