He's got nine years of playing time on that body. That is a long, long time in the NFL. Especially for what Kittle has done every week of every season. Great players don't last forever.
Isn't Jake the future?
Ughhhhh

gonna miss kittle big time, getting Ws without him will be huge
Same'ol s**t, same guys

Rather have Dwelley
Dwelley cant block. They need more than one TE who can block right now. As much as I like Tonges as a pass catcher and I know they trained him to be a blocker/FB, hes not really a natural blocker and will miss blocks.

Willis isnt great at blocking either but he is better than Dwelley who isnt even on the roster
The greatest strength a player can have is Availability. Without that, they are basically useless.

Kittle when healthy is fantastic, but I'm not sure if we are going to get very many healthy days anymore.
Are all team's fans this doom and gloom?
Play Juice at TE quite a bit for the majority of the games until he's back
I like Kittle a lot. He's a big time star. But he's becoming George Brittle lately. This happens when you have aging stars. Like Kittle and Trent Williams. They miss a few games each year and more as time goes on. At some point they will have to look at this. Areas where they could get younger and have to. It could be just a freak thing. But post 30+ and with some wear and tear the hamstring thing comes up more often. Probably wouldn't happen to him 5 - 7 years ago.
Should have traded him at some point.

Missing 4 games over the last 4 seasons is Brittle?

Yah, but it feels like he missed 25 games, and feelings > facts in Niner Talk.
Here is the problem with the Niners. Under Walsh, Walsh let aging players go in order to move up newer, more robust players. Was it hard to see Montana, Rice and others go? Yep. But they went because they were past their prime and the Niners to stay competitive year in and year out had to adjust and bring in new players. That is why this team is in for a very long year. They have no depth and they relied on their stars for far too long. Retool? Nope, they need a rebuild. Aging stars cannot take the rigor of the NFL and as such they cannot be expected to play week in and week out. That is the Niner's case right now. Are we comfortable with the depth here to carry them? I'm not. Super Bowl? Super Bowl? I just hope they can get to 10-6 and not 9-5 or 8-8. Even if they get into the playoffs, I expect them to be a one and done team this year. That is what happens when you don't pull the trigger even if star players have a few years left in them, its not at the level where they will win a Super Bowl. That window I believe is closed to them now and will be until they retool and not with the current set of stars. Kittle brittle? Yep and so are a few others including their QB on this team.
