Schwartz is as pure Wide 9 as it gets. He and Jim Washburn really popularized it around the league. Kocurek is a Schwartz and Washburn disciple.

When you think of the outside zone you think of Terrell Davis, the Broncos, Mike Shanahan and Alex Gibbs.

When you think of the Wide 9 you think of Jevon Kearse, the Titans, Jim Washburn and Jim Schwartz.

Give me Schwartz please. No to Bradley
Absolutely this.

Man, it's gonna be some pissed off fans To be sure, I'd love to have Schwartz as DC. I think he's better than Bradley. I just know it's not happening.
For what it's worth, I'm listening to Deiter and Hutch's pod this morning and Deiter mentioned that he believes the wheels are already in motion for Schwartz to come here if Saleh leaves. Here's the video:

I do hope you're right on that. I prefer him over Gus.

Schwarz is a d!ck, do not want, can't see him fitting in to the Shannalynch culture

This is why I don't think it'll happen.

I only know about handshake gate. What has he done? Also didn't Coach K come up under Schwartz? Seems like it would be a fit philosophically.

Kyle and Him seemed pretty lovey dovey after we played them this year.

Focus Robert!

Of those choices the Ravens is likely the best option. They are the team with the best QB situation of that list. The Falcons would be the next best. Saleh should avoid teams without an established QB. And, he should demand the kind of control and stability that Ben Johnson got with the Bears. Apply lessons learned from his experience with the Jets.

They need to make a rule change. No coach hiring or interviews until after the Super Bowl. This is ridiculous that we're in the middle of preparation for a playoff game on a SHORT week and Saleh is interviewing with the Dolphins. Can't blame him but teams shouldn't be allowed to distract like this…

That stood out a lot to me. They've gone against each other before, I haven't seen that kind of love fest before or after a game like that. One thing Schwartz would guarantee is that the revolving door of DC's would be over. He's not going to be a head coach again and the 49ers would have a DC locked in for the foreseeable future.

That makes sense from a distraction standpoint, however, it punishes teams and coaches who want to get their new position settled. Most of these teams looking for a new coach are just spinning their wheels until they get the new coach on board. So, if they wait for a coach that is on a team going deep into the playoffs, and they miss out, now they are stuck with bottom-of-the-barrel options.

The present system isn't ideal but there is no ideal system.
Mid playoff interviews suck. Teams should all have to wait until after the season.

Truth.

I loved the energy that Ryans and Saleh brought to the table. Schwartz is much more reserved than either of those two. However, he is well respected for his schemes. He has given the 49ers trouble in the past.
I think I want Jim Schwartz the most but let's be real it'll probably be Gus Bradley.

thought he was waiting until Sunday?
