II don't know I don't know why they went through us like butter but they did. They scored three touchdowns and a field goal in a game where we scored seven times. Cleveland has one of the worst offenses in the league. So if you look at all that together I think you have to conclude that we did a pretty shaky job out there against mediocre offense

I was a little shocked at the performance today.

Thought it was a step back after the bye.
Gifford totally whiffed on the Simmons touchdown.
Shocker..

Once Martin clears the concussion protocol we need to get him in there. At least the dude can make solo tackles. The coaches were saying he needs work on pass coverage, but his college report says he can do that. Hendricks and Martin in the game has to be better than Gifford, Bethune, and Winters combos

Excited to see what this defense will look like with the return of Warner, Bosa and Williams next year.

It will still look meh unless they do something different in the secondary. Dmo is fine but Green is awful and we don't have a single safety that can cover.

The secondary can't hold out forever. With Bosa and Warner back, pass rush will be on the menu again which takes the pressure off the db.

I don't think Green is awful. Our safeties are as bad as you describe as well. A strong pass rush would make our secondary look a lot better.
Just taking the current roster, the guys that are on defense (not on IR) and available to play the rest of the season, what is your absolute best 11 man lineup? Only picking from guys that are close to coming back or will be back from injury this season.

No reason they can't have both. Need a true free safety more than any other position on this team.

I disagree with that. You can have a secondary full of all pros but if you can't generate a pass rush they'll eventually get torched. Now if you a decent pass rush then yes having a true free safety would help.

Well adding Nick Bosa back helps that tremendously.

Not saying they shouldn't get rushers but they have to prioritize safety for the first time. Stop having to pull a late rd rabbit out the hat every year back there.

That's a great list I agree add other o line talent (OG, C) and we should be better.

When we're healthy,

What spot is open on the DL?
What TE spot is open (considering we still have Juice too)
What WR spot is open?

I think we need to do for the Secondary and OL what we did for the DL this draft. Just load up.

White -- Davis -- Collins/Elliot -- Ferrell (run)
Huff -- YGM -- White -- Ferrell (pass)

Winters --- Kendricks

Lenoir --- Brown --- Mustapha --- Stout --- Green

Guys like Sam O, Bethune, Martin and Pinnock to rotate in depending on situation.
