Eddie debartolo: felon who ran bill Walsh out of the franchise. 5-0 in superbowls.

jed: common sense. Mature. Easy on his coach. 0-3.

He's soft as s**t. No one fears him and there's no accountability. Let's all sing kumbaya about how great it is that the team got their ass kicked twice in 3 weeks by a division rival following a 6-11 season.

Go watch a video of bill parcells s**tting on Phil Simms about how soft he was with his oline. they didn't respect him. Parcells saw it.

same thing with York. They may be happy he's the owner because there is no pressure. Absolutely no accountability on this team and that falls on York.

DeBartolo didn't have to deal with a salary cap.

It's not about the salary cap. It's Jed not putting pressure on lynch or shanahan. It's about him being content. You see it in his video. He'd rather be just competitive to keep the fans happy with a coach who doesn't push him back than win. Debartolo was all about winning. While Jed would like to win, it's clearly not a priority or passion as it was with debartolo.

It actually is about the salary cap, back in the 80's DeBartolo could buy a Championship. Hence less pressure on the Coaches. Building a Football team back then was no different than building a race car. How much money you want to spend and that's how fast you'll go.

Jed is no dummy(unlike some of the mongoloids I mean fans that post on here).

It really is a large part though. I'm not a huge fan of Jed, but comparing him to Eddie's situation is apples to oranges. The league prefers parity.

We also don't know what kind of conversations he's had in private with Kyle and John. Maybe he's given them a time frame to win or else. We don't know. Just because he doesn't rant and rave like some of these egotistical owners doesn't mean he doesn't care.

Jed's like the nice husband who does all the chores for his wife. Then finds his a*****e neighbor f**king the s**t out of her. He's ok with it and gives her a second chance.

This could be true. I just don't see it though given how he went out of his way to praise him.

That's because Kyle's coaching job was praise worthy. They went 12-5, including 4-2 in the best division in football and a road playoff win, with a ton of injuries to key players in a year where they began to transition the roster and 'reset' on spending.

As a standalone season, absolutely praiseworthy. The team 100% overachieved.

if you take it as one snippet over the last 9 years, it's getting tiresome.

If Jed didn't have a salary cap we'd probably be in the same spot.

Hmmm that's a good point. Never thought of that. Makes what the Pats did over 20 years all the more impressive

Yup. Then the NFL fumbled worst than the Seahawks passing the ball at the 1 by not voting the GM/Coach of that dynasty in the Hall of Fame on the first ballot.

It is impressive, but there's also a flip side. It is harder for other organizations to build a team that can compensate for not having the GOAT coach and QB as the foundation of their success.

We've seen teams go on runs in the salary cap era that are longer/more sustained than in previous times (not counting the wooden rings and leather helmet days). For example, the Pats' streak of 8 straight championship game appearances and the Chiefs' 7.
