49ers Head Coach Kyle Shanahan Thread

It is well reported that John Harbaugh, who has had trouble in the playoffs in recent years, had inquiries from 7 teams within 45 minutes of the news of his firings. There is no doubt that Shanahan would have similar interest in a similar time frame.

There is room for honest debate and disagreement in this forum, however, when the same tired old points get drug out over and over and over again, it is time to change the batter. This thread has devolved to a ridiculous level. Let's keep things current. Quit dredging up near a decade old argument and bring some better, evidence-based analysis.

Maybe go watch some playoff football. If we're lucky, we may have to play one of these teams.

You dont get to decide if someone thinks Shanny should be fired or not and why. If you dont like the comment dont respond/block.

I think Shanny is a very good coach and OC but he has his flaws and over 9 years has yet to win the SB. Even as a OC in Atlanta gave us a glimpse.....Brady comeback.

I am not about firing him but i am about talking about his flaws and why. He doesnt get carte blanche with me.

The thing is the stat you posted has been debated many times here already. Everything has been covered including drop back passing being one of the weaker parts of Kyle's offense traditionally, and conservative decision making and clock management at times. It's also been pointed out that the record for teams across the league in this situation is abysmal… this is not something that is unique to Shanahan alone. Further, when you see who has been more successful in this situation it's usually a combination of great coaching and hall of fame QB play.

Maybe instead of just throwing up the stat without any comparable context or analysis, you actually make substantive points including both?

The incessant whining kind of gives the game away.

Comparable.....its a ranking. And he is last. He is the HC and OC for f**k sakes and is envolved with player personel

This was brought up by Tom Brady and in his pre game discussion on Fox .is that substantial enough for you.

So you have nothing to add to the conversation other than regurgitating a stat that you saw during a broadcast?

Did Tom Brady give an analysis of why this stat is what it is, or compare it to other teams across the league? Are you capable of digging into the stat yourself and applying context?

No injuries? Dre Greenlaw and Feliciano would like a word.

It was our least injured season but those two injuries were both critical in the SB itself. Which given your need to only concentrate on that single game should matter.

LB 2 and subpar OLineman. Got it. Maybe the water boy broke a fingernail and that contributed. If you can't coach a contingency plan for LB 2, then you're not doing a good job at your job.

Once again you're either a troll or a casual. There is no inbetween with responses like that.

We all watched that game. I know you're aware of the issues each of those injuries presented so you're playing dumb just to keep a stupid argument going in circles.

The first time you have a genuine point to make on this forum will be your first one.

These callouts of being a troll or casual need to stop. Seriously dude.

The guy is making legit conversation and you of all people are calling him out.
