It took the "Brick by Brick Brothers" 2 years starting with a much weaker roster to get the team to the SB.

I'll take that type of cycle because I believe much more in the QB we have now vs the guy who went to the SB with us that season.

ain't arguing that.. but the window is now close... they had their chances but it was just not enough.. ceiling reached and that's the bottom line.. BBB won't win one anyhow, why not test the water and see what happens.

Agreed. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is the definition of insanity.

Shany and Lynch are never going to win anything and we are headed down by now. You can't miss year after year in the draft. Trade away three 1st rounders for Lance and ignore the offensive line for 9 years. Then expect to win. They tried their best. Just not going to get it done. It's not going to happen under them. Time to move on to the next regime IMO.

These are basically the same post so may as well address all at the same time.

These are hilariously bad takes. This isn't a controlled experiment where you're literally doing the same thing again. The teams, players and opponents are different every time.

It's the NFL and things change very quickly with some key additions. We've literally seen that first hand with these guys.

You know what the definition of insanity in NFL terms is? Firing an elite offensive playcaller and great HC who established a winning culture simply because he wasn't able to beat the Dynasty team of this generation with their own amazing coaches and HOF level studs at key positions.

Once again you're all acting like changing HCs automatically guarantees SB wins.

None of them got as close as Shanahan to winning it all. And there is 0 guarantee anyone replacing him will get the job done.

Even if you believe the window is closed(a silly idea given this team is 5-3 and devastated by key injuries) the best bet for a rebuild is with guys proven they can get it done in the first place.

The core pieces are the same but one year older.

You don't fire shanahan. You trade him for 2 firsts 2 seconds and rebuild the offensive line with the picks. You might even get 2 thirds.

Let Saleh run the team.

Any advantage shanahan gives you is not as great as 4 early picks and the dropoff to saleh.

He's an asset you trade.

Firing him would be stupid but trading him is just smart.

This is pure comedy right here. NT hot takes never disappoints after a loss.

Do you need a reminder on the inconsistency of the draft?

You have a coach that can have you compete deep in the playoffs on the regular. A great playcaller that can make the offense competitive virtually every game and you want to trade him for unknowns in the draft and coaching ranks?

Shanahn could be here another 20+ years while those draft picks are no guarantees to be hits.

We all love having more draft picks and look ahead to potential talent infusion but the draft is too much a crapshoot.
There are some posts I've read just now that got me thinking some dude's might still be wiping dat azz front back to front

ANYWAYS

I need another one of these interviews / quotes from Shanny just for the f*** of it

"I can't guarantee that anybody in the world will be alive Sunday, so I can't guarantee who will be on our roster come Sunday,"

[ replace "alive" with injured and replace "on our roster" with playing ]
Shanahan's peak with this team was 2022 and 2023 and for whatever reason it wasn't enough to win the ring. He won't build another team as good as that one and it seems that since the SB loss there are players that are openly angry and they don't even try to hide it which was something that didn't happen in the past.

Shanahan is a good coach but he hasn't been good enough to win the Super Bowl and I wonder if his cycle on the team is already over.

The thing is that Jed York is happy with the team being only relevant even if doesn't win Super Bowls and with Shanahan as a coach he can be sure that the team will be relevant year after year..

The owner and GM of the Seahawks are happy with just being relevant. Maybe we are headed in that direction. 10/11 win seasons with a loss in the wild card or divisional game every year and Jed will be ok with that.

Examples?

Deebo last year saying that he wasn't getting enough touches. Aiyuk has been mad since that Super Bowl. Jennings this year arguing with Shanahan in the sidelines.

Yea, I don't know man. These aren't very strong examples and are pretty easily explained in context. They don't allude to any real problems with Shanahan's ability to manage the team and get his players to buy in.

The team is 5-3 in a transition year with a roster devastated by injury…. That should tell you something about the state of the locker room and Kyle and staff's influence on it.

The difference between him and EddieD. Would Shanahan still be around if Eddie was still owner of this franchise ? I highly doubt doubt it.
Take a peak at the College game. Arguably never been more unstable. Players joining the NFL with questionable development (on & off the field). I take my chances moving forward with a proven stable commodity at the helm.
