Kyle could have had Brady, chose not to.
Could've gone hard after Stafford, but was busy on vacation while McVay was making moves.
Even Rodgers in his prime could've been an option if the Niners were serious enough.

If we're going to argue the missing piece behind those Super Bowl losses was Kyle not having a HOF quarterback at his disposal, the counter is that he chose not to. I'm sure trading all those picks for Trey Lance could have landed any one of those guys. Actually less. Brady wanted to come here for free.

You all have got to stop spreading complete BS just to try and make Kyle look bad.

The Brady move is complete hindsight. The 49ers weren't the only ones who didn't bring in Brady. He already talked about the Raiders sticking with Derek Carr over him and unlike the 49ers the Raiders weren't coming into that offseason after a SB trip. Brady was coming off his worst season as a pro, looked like he was pretty much done and going to turn 43 that next season.

The whole Stafford thing is complete BS though. Acting like Shanahan was just chilling on vacation and missed the chance to get Stafford is straight up nonsense. Lions new GM came from the Rams. He wanted Goff and they were never going to have a serious discussion with the 49ers. Stafford also had a relationship with McVay. Stafford wanted to go to the Rams, Lions wanted Goff. Shanahan could've flown to the Lions HQ and still not gotten that deal done.

As for Rodgers...Shanahan literally got LaFleur all pissed off cuz he tried to trade for Rodgers.

You're knocking him for not making 2 moves he tried to make and the other side squashed it. Your reasons for hating Kyle are literally made up.

You'll keep spinning your way out of blaming Kyle for anything. He picked Jimmy over Brady. In what universe does Jimmy Garoppolo an upgrade over Tom Brady ? Especially when the guy is requesting to play for your team on a cap friendly contract ?

as for Stafford:

https://www.prideofdetroit.com/2021/7/7/22566773/kyle-shanahan-recalls-the-weekend-he-tried-to-trade-for-matthew-stafford

"I was trying to get involved in it. Someone who had knowledge on the situation—I remember us talking to (Stafford's agent Tom) Condon, everyone just to find out when it was happening. I remember Saturday, I was so stressed out, and finally we talked to someone—it was like seven at night—and they're like, 'No, nothing's happening. At the earliest, til tomorrow, so you can finish your night.'

"So I'm like, 'Alright, I'm done.' Put down my phone. Talk to (his wife) Mandy. I'm like, 'Alright, let's go out to dinner. Let's have some drinks.' A half-an-hour later, my buddy calls me, he's like, 'I'm just telling you, if you want Stafford, you need to get a hold of him right now.'

"I'm like, 'What do you mean? No, we just talked to people. I can sleep on this. We'll talk to him tomorrow.'

"'I'm just telling you, you need to talk to him right now.' And I knew it was all over."

Reports are that the 49ers never made an official offer to the Detroit Lions, but it sounds like Shanahan would have had he not taken the night off a little too early.

and while you're at it, you can remind all of us how it's not Shanahan's fault for not scouting Mahomes because 9 other teams passed over him in the draft…

LOL..

I also remember reading how he saw too much RAWNESS on Mahomes so he went with Bobby's grandson who supposively was MORE ready. !!

Shanny COMEDY !!

He sort of is, sort of isn't. As usual he's taking multiple things and exaggerating them to suit his agenda.

NOT making up stuff... he thought he was raw... and that Bobby's grandson was more ready... it's actually SAD, he saw everything on Mahomes but just decided that it's not for the team.. DIDN'T even make any sense..

MIAMI -- Kyle Shanahan and John Lynch had a chance to draft Patrick Mahomes in 2017 and decided against it.
It's more complex than a simple "pass," though.

For one, the 49ers weren't entirely sold on Mahomes. Shanahan had interacted with the quarterback at the NFL Scouting Combine, but the team wasn't certain he'd prove worthy of the second pick in the draft.

"I didn't look into him obviously as much as I should have," Shanahan said Tuesday. "We definitely looked into him, studied all of his tape. Was just a freak, could make any throw, had the ability to do anything. That was a little bit different situation for us. We had the second pick in the draft, did not feel like from all the intel that you get and stuff that he was gonna go that high."

There was another factor: Kirk Cousins' impending free agency. Shanahan had a strong familiarity with the quarterback from his time as offensive coordinator in Washington, and he had an eye on the signal-caller with the 2018 free-agency period just a season away.

THE QUESTION IS... if he wanted KIRK so badly, why did he trade for him and give up the ranch the way he did w/Lance??

OHHHH, suddenly he saw too much PAT on Lance??

In no world was Beathard drafted to be the long term starter. He was a mid-round development QB for a rather talent poor position at the time.
I am happy for the latest generation of 49er fans...they get this age old question of "is it talent or is it coaching" answered day one.

Coaching is so damn important.
Tough night for you Kyle haters. Gonna have to get in your bag for some reaches this week.

Amazing job by the coaching staff to get the team rdy to play all thing considered.

Damn, 5-2 despite all the Injuries and with so many young guys on the team.

Surely he'll win COTY this season.

If they keep finding ways to win, he'll definitely be in the mix.
