You heard Baltimore saying Purdy is a spot thrower so they can figure out the spot. If Kyle does not change up his reads and hot routes *who cares* when we meet them or any team that has a good defense, I do. They need to spread out the progressions but with the Niners line probably can't, not enough time.

You're talking the 94 Niners I guess. Same team that got absolutely crushed by the Eagles in a game where Steve Young was famously benched and went on a tirade.

Exactly one of Brock's 4 interceptions would fall into the idea that they were sitting on a spot, and it was by a safety who had nobody to cover on his side of the field. It was a bad read and throw by the QB.

I feel like this is complete nonsense. Throwing with anticipation to spots is how passing offenses work in the NFL, in structure.

Just needs to get over himself and adjust to what the defense gives him. A loss should be a reflection and blow out losses should be a wake up moment to see where he's falling short. You can't just say they will play better next time. The Ravens kicked the crap out of them and now are talking s<%t. The old time 90s Niners would come back and shut them up. I don't see that fire in Kyle. I do however think Kyle is one of the best coaches out there but he needs to get better.

They don't play them again, unless it's in the SB… so I really don't get it.

The long gone 90's Niners lost plenty of ugly games as well.

Guys your missing the point. The Ravens were taking s**t all week and then came in and kicked out asses. When a team does that it's embarrassing. We did that to the Eagles and backed it up.

In the 90s we got our asses handed to us a lot was not saying we didn't.

The other point "Exactly one of Brock's 4 interceptions would fall into the idea that they were sitting on a spot" The others were the fact the Line was letting guys into the backfield to slap them down, basically SDs point.

The old time 49ers got their asses beat big and often. Lost multiple playoff games to the Giants. Got creamed by the Vikings when they were the #1 seed in the playoffs. Lost year after year to the Cowboys. Repeatedly wrecked by the Packers.

Every team gets their ass kicked badly once awhile, it's a part of football. What defines you as a team is how you respond to it.

SanDiego has a point though - in that against elite coaches, Kyle's had challenges. Jim Shwartz has Kyle's number. For a long time Pete also had Kyle's number until Kyle got bigger on the offensive line. John Harbaugh looks like he has Kyle's number too. Reid, Belichick same etc... point I think SD is trying to make is that - and I'm paraphrasing - Kyle seems to treat all the elite coaches like the regular average coaches he consistently out coaches in the NFL, when Kyle should be much more careful and much more conservative against the elite coaches he faces. Easier said than done of course.

Exactly gets out coached by good defensive minded coaches. SD was trying to make a valid point. I don't care what stats are saying about the time to throw the person taking those must have been drunk watching the game. that's just not accurate, 3.5 secs, lol no way.

Really? Did you go back and use a stop watch on every dropback? Your feelings (eye test) are not facts. Unless you have evidence to the contrary don't speak in such absolutes.

Re watch the game your take IMO is flat out wrong. I don't know why you think this line is OK. It is not good enough to win a Superbowl.

The Ravens were saying they thought they were the best team and were being disrespected as underdogs. This isn't unique, surprising, or meaningful at all. Just as the 49ers words were meaningless following the Eagles championship game loss.

All of these teams are confident. All believe they can beat anybody if they play their best game. The margins in the modern NFL are razor thin.

Everyone's had challenges against elite coaches. Belichick ran into Tom Coughlin in the SB twice and he and Brady lost twice. Reid got worked by Belichick repeatedly for years. Harbaugh got worked by Belichick. Harbaugh had the #1 seed in the AFC and the league MVP in 2019 and got taken down by Mike Vrabel and the Titans.

There's not a single coach out there that has an advantage over everyone else. Reid has looked fantastic with Mahomes, an elite quarterback. He was still good in Philadelphia but didn't look so elite without him when it came to winning big games. Belichick is a great coach, he doesn't look so elite without Brady at quarterback. Harbaugh has looked great when he's had quarterbacks playing at a very high level, much less so when he hasn't.

So yeah, when you have Lamar Jackson, Tom Brady or Pat Mahomes, you suddenly tend to look a whole lot smarter than when you have to make do without QB's of that caliber. As much as Purdy has played really well, he's still just a second year QB that is on the job learning and there's going to be situations where teams will throw things at him that he is going to struggle with.

Well then I don't understand your point. Sometimes you get your ass kicked, sucks but it happens, everyone gets beat eventually. The Patriots had an undefeated season and went to the SB and got beat by the 10-6 Giants.

I'm less worried about the Ravens and more worried about the team staying healthy for the remainder of the season. Crazy things happen in the playoffs and all this belly-aching about what the Ravens will do to the 49ers if they see them in the SB ignores that either team could very easily not make it there. The Ravens are just the "NOBODY IS GOING TO BEAT THEM, THEY ARE UNSTOPPABLE" flavor of the week. If they lose to the Dolphins this week then it'll be Miami's turn on the carousel again.
Shanahan was awful against the Ravens. We all saw that. We all agree on that.

What are we arguing here?

The argument is about whether it's a pattern against other good coaches or more of an isolated affair.

Putting aside the point that it's not a blanket agreement that Shanahan was awful and cost us the game in the first place.

Facts > opinions. I guess you don't understand the difference. Also, the O line had been good enough to win 73% of its games this season.

Brock was kept clean on 58% of his dropbacks. He was 10 of 19 for 6.3 YPA with 0 TD's and 2 INT's. When a QB is playing poorly with a clean pocket, it strongly suggests that the coverage was really good.

1-It's not a pattern.
2-If we can't agree that Shanahan was awful against the Ravens we won't agree on anything ever.

Well you and NC have clearly called out that they have no shot, might as well just save yourself the aggravation and stop watching.

Bingo!

Also SF had more total yards, rushing yards and yards per attempt. They lost the TO battle and a couple of those were tipped balls that just happened to fall into their hands. s**t our D had a couple tipped balls, we weren't lucky enough to have them fall into our hands. It's football s**t happens
