If McDaniel's is the reason why our redzone offense was #1 last season and was the reason our run game was so great last season. Tell me why Miami is ranked 10th in redzone this season? Even worse, they are only 25% in the redzone over the last 3 weeks. Also, their run game is one of worste in the NFL this season. Something doesn't add up here.

At least he's not trying to pretend he's joking and finally admitting he thinks McDaniels is the real brains behind KS and that he's just a gutless, controlling, glorified OC who held jimmy back

A couple interesting tidbits in Crock's pod here. A former 49er QB told him we practice the least amount of RZ's and hurry-up paced offense. He noted this because of our RZ woes (couldn't rush for TD's) through a good chunk of the season and also, when we were down to Atlanta and needed to hurry up, we ran an 8 minute drive that didn't result in points.

His overall concern is that Kyle is conservative and only plays off his one-way formula (e.g. defense, running game, efficient passing game, clock-control) and when that formula doesn't work, we're in trouble.

His bigger point is that he feels we might find ourselves in that position in the playoffs so he'd like to see us be more equipped and prepared for that (better RZ and pace when needed).

Do you agree?

Another point is that it hasn't been Hufanga who's been blowing coverages as of late.

Even if true, at the end of the day you only got that much time to train. If the coach assumes, that being perfect in "his" categories does lead the team to a W in 99 out of 100 cases, then he won't switch the training system.
In Brock Purdy's first 2 starts the offense is 60% in the redzone which is around 10% higher than our season average. After looking at last seasons redzone percentages, the 49ers weren't even #1, they were #4.

They have different players.
He inherited a near bottom of the league offense. He has done a great job IMO.

Kyle has also done a great job with his offense since losing McDaniels. Coach of the Year for sure.

Forgive NC, he's easily influenced by YouTube

McCaffery has been such a difference maker.

He really has and that's why It's Important to manage his touches going forward so that we can hopefully keep him healthy and fresh for the playoffs.

Three years from now:

"There's no way that Kyle will be able to make it without Bobby Slowik who was the REAL brains of the operation!"

Need to check Dave Lombardi excel sheets for the answer

LOL. There could be a ton of reasons for this esp. given he's a first time HC now and not a run and RZ coordinator.

The bigger point is 'together' last year they did a great job. And that's fallen off. That's undeniable. And there could be a ton of reasons for that too.

The bigger point is this is still an area of concern heading into the post season. If we want to win a Superbowl, that is.

Don't forget Brian Griese. Those two saved our franchise.

This statement is such bs. They have a QB who can sling it, two fast and dynamic WR's, a decent TE and two solid RB's.
