I have zero trust Jimmy will do any of that at a high level. Teams will just blitz the crap outta him and he won't see the open guys.

You'd think playing in an offense the QB is most comfortable with would at least increase the odds of playing better. But maybe not.

A guy with poor decision making and pocket prescience is not a good fit for a spread offense.

Pay attention to Kyles progressions and hit the open guy. He isn't doing that. Insanity is continuing to do something where guys ARENT open.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan talked yesterday about how, with almost an entirely new coaching staff on the offensive side, how it's changed his process. Do you feel that change in your position as well?

"Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's definitely different. Whenever something's new, new coaches, new players, whatever it is, it's always going to be a little different. But that's what I was kind of saying. It's our job as players to catch up as quickly as possible, get on the same page. There're no excuses at this point. We're in the season, we're in the grind of it, and we just have to play catch up now."

Kyle talked yesterday about how the process of building his gameplan for a game has changed just a little bit because it's all different personnel on the coaching staff on the offensive side. How have you seen it because you've been around for quite a bit with him?
"It's all different. We talk about it often. I don't think there's anybody on the staff that's doing the exact same job that they did a year ago. Even though I was the offensive line coach, I didn't have the duties of run game coordinator and I think every single person you could point to on the offense is in a different role. It's the same, but it is different. It's just to all of us, how Kyle uses each one of us, how we all have to supplement helping him formulate a gameplan. It's just different. He had [Miami Dolphins head coach] Mike [McDaniel] for so many years, who knew what Kyle needed and could go around the staff to get what Kyle needed and help Kyle with all those things. And so now it's more and it's a process of realizing, okay, this is what Chris is going to be able to do in this role and still be able to coach the offensive line. This is what [offensive passing game coordinator] Bobby Slowik is going to bring the table. This is what [tight ends coach] Brian Fleury is going to bring to the table and then you see people's strengths and weaknesses. It's like during the season you realize, hey, [OL] Aaron Banks pulls better, he's a better puller than [OL] Spencer Burford, so if we're going to pull somebody, we're probably going to pull Aaron a little bit more. Not that Spencer can't do it or if the play calls for it, but same with coaches. This coach is a little bit better at this, this coach a little bit better at that. My strength isn't making sure that the Excel spreadsheet is set up properly with exclamation points, parentheses, and all of a sudden who knows what the game plan would look like, so somebody else is going to do that. McDaniel was really good at working the Excel spreadsheet or whatever it might be, so that's a random example, but you get my point."

That said he did just that once last game. Stepped up, slid right, set, freaking dime to Aiyuk on the deep sidelines in traffic. I about fell out of my chair.

A break from what. He spent $137m and 3 ones to get the exact QB room he has.

Part of football as a business. You can argue the exact same situation with Andy Reid acquiring Alex Smith and then trading Alex to Washington after drafting Mahomes and then winning a SB, same as GB getting Rodgers and moving on from Favre etc, where were those franchises before having Alex Smith and Favre (who also was traded from ATL to GB only after 1 season)? Not very good, so they were ALL QB upgrades one after another.
KS and Lynch just had bad luck with injuries since they took over, they got the best mileage out of Jimmy and you can say they still are with him as the highest paid backup QB, pretty smart move though everyone would rather move on to Trey already but fate and God had other plans.

Trey wasn't exactly setting the world on fire. I doubt the offense would have been much better with him. The injury excuse is old and tired and frankly not even that bad. Niner fans need to expect more from Kyle especially considering he's supposed to be an offensive genius but can't score in the second half of games.

God is teaching 9er "fans" and maybe even KS patience is a virtue. "Trail by fire"..

Exactly bro. Great post. Like you know sometimes its just not that complicated like what we need to do is spread it out, air it out offense--keep it simple stupid. But of course we just dont know till we try. I mean look what the rest of the league is doing. Just do that!

Like also we should start Brock Purdy but noOoOOoO Kyle is Stubborn and just won't listen to us.

I also agree that we should just fire Shanny. But no0o0o Kyle is Stubborn and won't fire himself just like Jed York.

But like you said, for the HC hires, we could get these guys like Matt Rhule or even Matt Rhule clone of exactly himself but hell maybe a clone of a Kliff Kingsbury type unless the Cards fire Kliff then we should get the real him of course.

But mostly its just this general philosophy. We have all been saying the same and we do agree with eachother out here. So glad there are many who think like us in this way.
