Probably be easier to think of what we don't need.

Bingo...ILB too...depth at least unless you guys are cool with Ray-Ray and Coyle playing the whole season.
And a big, fast, sticky fingered wide receiver.

this.

- need to replace guards.

- might need to replace tackles. Staley up there in age. Brown might not be a scheme fit.

- need a #1 WR.

- hoyer is not the future. Beathard has had sloppy mechanics in preseason.

- RBs haven't produced yet, and if Hyde doesn't produce, might just let him walk

- need another LB to replace Bow.

- might need to invest more 1st round picks in the DL if it can't get any penetration. Need edge rushers.

- might need new CBs that fit Saleh's mold.

- might need a new free safety if Jimmie Ward is still soft, and/or if he sucks.

Did I miss anything? We might be good at Tight End, though.

Looks like the most difficult positions to fill. I hope nobody was really thinking this would be a quick turnaround. Probably two or three years minimum, with luck and a lot of money.

I know he is gonna play Foster's postion most likely but can he be moved around & possibly play Eli Harold postion as well?

He's purely a Will (Ray Ray's backup).

All that and you didn't mention Kilgore, who just had a world class epic fail for his first game this yr. Problem before for him has been health. This yr, he called a horrid OL game, and his blocking....AWFUL.

Agreed.
There are needs and then there are desperate needs...and that is where we are on the OL at present. First off, i thought that Lynch and kyle did well for the OL this yr. I mean:
Zut
Barnes
Fusco
Were excellent ideas. I thought we had some experienced talent to help strengthen the OL.

Then all 3 flamed out.

Then kilgore just disappeared
Theus had been on the cusp, then just cut last week.

Now Magnus and Laken brot in and need to start to protect hoyer.

The thinking on the OL was fine. The picks unfortunately were not. Who would have guessed that all the above guys would come up bust? So now we have to fix the fusco and beadles thing. Theus did't make the cut. It just goes on and on.

Bring back tiller, who CAN block. He may not know ZBS, but he should help protect hoyer. Initially kyle wanted ZBS only. Now he HAS to do something to protect the QB. And ZBS is going to have to play second fiddle until that is accomplished.

Yeah, we always knew Kilgore was very weak at the POA and would certainly be exposed against strong NT's and 3T's. Unfortunately for him, we play a ton of them this year.

Zuttah really screwed us here.

Garnett had a shot to solidify one G spot but he'd probably need a full year to get acclimated.

No issues with grabbing Gilliam, Barnes, Fusco, etc.

But when you're forced starting an interior of Beadles, Kilgore and Fusco, you're screwed. Those three are capable of playing 1 good game every 3 at best. All 3 are backups at best and fringe 53's.

Sadly, these guys are what makes this whole offense go from the running game to adjustments to pass protection.
Gotta keep opposing Ds honest by keeping it close or god willing...having a lead.

I think Carolina has a better base DL than SEA.

I think line will play better this week but see my point A above.

Lets go Shanny, been looking forward to you showing us that you are capable of beating these f**ks or putting up some points atleast.

I really had hoped they would take one of the top centers in the draft this year, even with the signing of Zuttah. I wonder if they have plans to move one of the young guys over? Magnus? Draft profile indicated a possible move to center. Tomlinson? He plans to be a doctor after football and is smart enough to call the assignments.
