What a year makes from 2016 to 2017 for the 21 returning players.
RB Hyde - Looks like a top back this year after having a good year under Chip's offense
RB Mostert - Looks good on STs, kinda scared me when he had the fumble on TNF
TE Celek - Looks better in KS's system compared to his time under Harbs, Chryst, and Chip
C Kilgore - Looks ok, not overally great
OG Beadles - Looks really bad compared to 2016 when he looked good to me at C, LG and LT
OT Staley - Looks good
OT Brown - Looks good, has had issues with edge rushers
DE Carradine - Looks better in this system, sucks about the injury
DE Armstead - Looks great in Salah's system
DE Lynch - Looks really good so far
DT Buckner - Looks great in Salah's system
OLB Harold - So-so, not overally impressed by him
OLB Armstrong - Not impressed by him, has looked so-so, actually bad at times, seems like he played better in our old 3-4 system over Salah's system.
MLB Bowman - Looks like he's getting back to his old self, looks great in Salah's system
CB Robinson - Looks good so far
CB Johnson - Has been good so far
FS Ward - Looking really good in Salah's system in 2 games
SS Reid - Looks good so far, sucks he's hurt, hope he comes back strong
SS Tartt - He looks good, has had some issues week 1, but also injured.
P Pinion - Has been great as the P and KO Specialist
LS Nelson - Looks good on Punts and Snapping

Obviously weve had our ups and downs but guys are looking better than theyve shown previously with the exception of Bow returning from injury.
Its also to be highly considered we got WAYYYY too banged up with injuries on D while on short rest.

Good assessments AB! Not sure about how much time some of these guys will need to be at top form, but Armstrong and Beadles are my only disappointments so far. I don't believe Kilgore will hold up for an entire year so I'm hoping they are saving Beadles as his backup...not benching him due to play. Not sure whether he just needed time to adjust. The good news? Some really interesting young linemen who can develop over the year.

OLB and CB are our weak links, improved rush should help the CBS but that probably won't be upgraded until next off season

Injuries are killing us, we have 4 key Defensive guys hurt, Tank, Foster, Reid, and Tartt, plus Coyle.

Thanks dtg, I worry about Kilgore as well, Beadles would be a better option at C if he goes down IMO. Armstrong has been bad, sucks, cause I liked him a lot last year before the injury.

Hate to say it but i havent forgot about Malcolm Smith either. Losing two starting LBs again is unreal lol.

I'm not sure I would have said Robinson looks good. Admittedly, no help from a pass rush, but I think he has struggled at times.

Yes, but Peters is one of the best young CBs and he's had some bad plays today so...good grief, just as I write that a tip from Peters to Sorensen for an interception! Go 9ers, go Chiefs!
Rats...replay!

LOL...I must say I'm very displeased with HOW 33/36 are being coached in their technique. I genuinely feel it's working against them especially because it doesn't put them in position to get turnovers and gives refs the green light to throw a flag on them and that's exactly what's been happening.

Sounds like they want that mastered before going for picks.

I don't know how you get picks with your back to the QB, facing the WR, not worrying about the ball and playing the receivers body language as the ball arrives.

Im just saying they wanna get the blanket coverage down before doing what you rather have them do.
I think they believe they'll get hurt in the passing game more right now if they try to play the ball.
Once again no disrespect to you NC and i love you bringing these discussions up cause thats the beauty of the forums and why were here but i like to think theres a reason for certain things going on.

Yeah, no worries. I think I understand the rationale on the technique, unfortunately it's just working against them right now and exposing them. I hope the coaches recognize it and go back to playing more like Seattle plays instead.

No Cousins draft
Round 1- Rosen
Round 2- WR (Sutton or Cobbs. Would probably be Cobbs)
Round 2- G Nelson
Round 3- CB Alexander
Round 3- DE Sweat (falls because of knee concerns)
Round 4- best gaurd, CB or RB available.

Which CB Alexander, Jaire(Louisville) or Adonis(VA Tech)?
