I think that's why he hasn't signed yet
With a 3 game lead in the division I don't see them rushing to make a trade until the week of the trade deadline. That will provide a better assessment of what's highly needed and it should lower the asking price of teams willing to unload contracts or expiring contracts.

I do believe this Falcon game is a trap game. Especially now that they're down to Kirk and WRs 7, 8, 9, 10.

Good times still though!

Trade for a WR for insurance, that WR can take Cowings spot.

I just don't see Cowings being able to make much of an impact. Even as a return man he's not great.
2026 class looks crazy good, and Strib isn't even playing. The 49ers badly needed a big draft class this year, and Lynch delivered.

Interesting fact. Since Kyle/Lynch took over, they still have at least one player from each of their drafts.

I don't see us trading for a WR, we'll ride it out. Too many guys are coming back. Kirk, Robinson, Deebo, and Stribling all should be back within the next 4 games

Strib can't be counted on for anything this yr. Deebo isn't a true WR anymore. Kirk has been hurt since August…him and Robinson are depth guys, they shouldn't be counted on as starting WRs that teams have to game plan for.

they absolutely need a WR with what is happening to Evans. Dude is hurting and that's not gonna magically change this yr.

Consistently finding UDFA's too. Valdez is a freaking stud and Thompson looks like he will be one too

I'm still hoping for Brian Thomas Jr. I don't know what happened in Jax but I still believe that kid has WR1 potential and would shine with us.

These guys could end up looking like the one Seattle had a couple years ago. One great draft class can go a long way toward restockng for the future.

Just saw that the Rams are favorites to trade with the jags for Brian Thomas.

Lynch can't let that happen, we need to intercept that trade.

Basically everybody that matters is coming back for the Vegas game. And then Stribling ~4 weeks after that.

Do NOT use day one or two picks for a rental. You need a run stuffing DT (that's not Buckner) and a dynamic PR. Both of which you can get for cheap.

If there is an A-caliber player with multiple years of control (like the CMC trade) then, yeah, do it. But never for a rental.

Also: no reclamation projects. The goal is to win right now. Not train up some former 1st round pick. If you can't help right now then you shouldn't be on the roster.

So it's 99% likely we will trade for someone. The question is, who and when? Will it be this week, during the bye week or right before the deadline? We only have two games between now and the deadline (at Falcons Sunday and then vs. Raiders two days before the deadline).
