I'll wait and see what the Niners strategic plan is for this year. I really hate this time of the year because it seems everyone has a draft order and everyone has the FA they want. All I know is that this team needs help in WR, DL and OL in order to continue to move forward. The ogranizaiton needs to find new talent and that is what needs to be evaluated. How well do they pick via the draft for the future (and face it, you never really know in the draft for a couple of years who comes out as an all pro or elite) and how do they pick up in FA for the postions they need for their scheme to be successful. I'll evaluate come June how the post season has gone. Til then I just figure all this is entertainment. Here's hoping they pick up what they need to move the team forward. We'll see if Lynch and company do that.

Those GMs are not on the same level as Lynch. Those guys passed on George Kittle 5 times. Passed on Fred Warner multiple times. Passed on Brock Purdy 7 times.
Am i doing that right?
Those GMs have won a Super Bowl.
Try again.

IMO, trade for Thibodeaux or Greenard will be a whole lot better for the 9ers than trading for Crosby. Shoot, I'd rather they sign Trey Hendrickson than trade for Crosby.
This. Crosby is a beast but far cheaper for the Thibs and Greenard. Also, it is more realistic to manage the cap and sign Hendrickson while also not giving up any draft capital etc.

I'm down for the bolded. Wouldn't mind Crosby though. I'm out on Hendrickson. Not wise to pay over d lineman free agents that are over 30.

I agree about the age, but at least with the cap they are able to "kick the can down the road" with how its structured and restructured etc. We see how much giving up a lot of draft capital can hurt with the Lance trade. I think with Thibs and Greenard getting a contract done may be part of it. The one year rental stuff is silly since we are not one player away.

I still don't think Maxx is the blockbuster answer this team should do. The correct blockbuster move would be a WR to fill in the gaping hole Aiyuk is leaving us with.

I wouldnt be upset if we didnt overpay for him. Go get Trey Hendrickson as a free agent or trade a early mid round pick for Greenard. Or just draft a speed rusher.
Maxx sounds good but i'm not overpaying for him if its going to prohibit us from signing other free agents due to cap space and significant draft capital.

I mean, would I be excited if we traded for Maxx? Of course! It's called being a fan.
But from a rationality perspective I just think WR is a bigger hole for us. We had Bosa/Williams sitting on IR most of the year and they should be coming back. We're not getting any key WR back off of IR.

Forgive him, he's all invigorated and giddy after the rams trade .

Great way to go about it. Way too much overreaction right now. We'll know what we have or don't have in a few months and likely won't even get a full picture until November.
To me really the biggest thing I'm waiting/hoping for is changes to the training staff. Show me that we're trying to do something about all these damn injuries!

FWIW: My final offer for Crosby would probably be #27, next year's 2nd and Bryce Huff. Don't know if that gets it done.
