We don't seem to have much luck with receivers.

Many on the board didn't want this team to cave into his public demands.

It's generally accepted 2022 and 2023 produced awful drafts. I think next year will be telling. We need the guys from 2024 to take that next step as well as 2025. Lynch is set up pretty nicely with so many picks in the first four rounds. We need 2-3 guys from these classes to emerge as stars, no excuses. If they do not, this team is going to age out. They wont be terrible but more like the Tomlin Steelers.

Looking at Ricky Pearsall, Green, Williams, Collins, West, and Stout primarily. All of the above need to take another step but we need go to guys to come out of the above group or maybe we get some dark horses- the 2026 rookies, Guerendo, Cowing, Watkins, Winters, etc.

Hoping they can for the team's and Lynch's sake.

.. add Mustapha to that list.

It is so hard to evaluate players when so many key pieces get injured. Complementary football applies deeper than just Offense, Defense, and Special Teams. The secondary looks bad when there is no pass rusher. Running game suffers when there is no deep threat in the passing game. ...and on and on.

We will start the season next year with much of the same roster we had this year that many observers felt was a top 5 pick to go to the Super Bowl. Now, add in a few good draft picks and we should be fine.
This draft looked really good in 2024, but if we're being honest, it looks really bad today. Pearsall might be the saving grace if he can stay healthy, but I have no faith in the other guys.

He's not really wrong. The difference is primarily the draft. Followed by free agency and trades. Player personnel is better on these other teams. Shany can do shifts and motions. But he can't pick players to save his life.

eh, I have faith in Puni. He was a top 15 Guard last year but injuries prevented him from ever getting back in peak form this year.

Green and Mustapha will be solid starters. They need to stay healthy and stack reps.

Bethune is good depth, which is about all you can hope for from a 7th round pick.

We'll have to wait on the others. The staff seems to like Cowing. Maybe he can be a depth piece.

Why do other teams continue to poach FO staff from us, including player personnel guys?

To an extent yes but if you are taking poor angles in coverage and tackling that is 100% on the player. All of our safety's are just awful in coverage.

Id bet on Puni and Pearsall. Cowing is a slight possibility. Mustapha wont be rehabbing this offseason and can focus on getting better. Green is going into year 2 as a starter and our DBs had absolutely no pass rush. It can only get better.
.
Firing him before the draft would be the best upgrade the niners can make this offseason
