$30m in dead money. Don't expect any big name signings.
Im honestly not interested in big name signings. We need lots of help and that comes from the draft and having players on rookie contracts. Seven picks in the first four rounds is enough to few a couple of holes.
Why are so many people so fixated on signing big names every year, as if it frigging works for every other team who overpays for players? This hardly ever works, the so called offseason winners hardly ever win it all, I just want some upgrades, not saying big names, and get some nice depth pieces, but I await the people who say we need to sign this guy or that guy for $20M a year cause why not when that's the dumbest thing to do, don't overpay or spend for the sake of spending, but WTF do I know, I'm only the guy who actually understands the Salary Cap.

Tired of the Lance talk. That was 5 years ago. Yes the impact affected us to 2023 but teams have turned themselves around in two years. I can honestly say the 2024 and 2025 draft classes are better than 2022- 2023. Now do we have any major players from those groups remains to be seen.

This teams window was 2019 to 2023....it's shut, we've got a bunch of aging players and guys we've given massive deals to. We'll be a good team but I don't see us competing for a championship any time soon unless something drastic happens.

I think Jed York is too weak to fire him. They're buddies.

Yorks are not interested in a 49er Championship, money's being moved to other investments. They are happy with the status quo as long as the money is flowing.

I dont see how you can judge where we are but considering we were in the final 8 with this broken down unit, I think its safe to say we still can compete for Super Bowls next year.
What has been made very clear is our lack of speed on offense, pass rushers and edge setters on defense, and tight end depth. Could add corners but those guys played with the league's worst pass rush.
A quality draft with no reaches and actually playing the guys we draft, moreso on offense, will do wonders.
I'll also add dominant run blocking and pass protecting O-line.

Teams have windows when momentum is on your side. You literally need to strike when the irons hot. Eventually you loose that window, players leave, age or get hurt. You begin to pay too many too much and unless you do a dramatic turn around you go into decline. I feel we're at that state where decline is inevitable unless something dramatic happens. We're like the Bills who've probably need to fire their HC to get over the hump before everyone on their roster starts asking for top tier money.

That's basically replacing most of the players. There is no confidence in Lynch to bring in the right personnel.

I think he's done a really solid job overall, he's not in a great position as Kyle brought him in so it's clear he defers to the coaches more than most GM's, he calls it synergy.
The plan was obvious on defense and it worked. We kept our stars and tried to have them carry young guys through, they just both got injured, I forsee them being so much better for the experience of doing it without Warner and Bosa.
I do think he's got a bit of a blind spot at Safety, I think he thinks that he can identify talent further down the draft because he played the position (worked with Hufanga) and I think he overvalues tackling as that's what his meal ticket was. While everyone needs to be able to tackle I'd like to see us with a ball hawk back there.

Do you even know what the word "complicit" means? Clue: it isn't what you appear to think. Fans cannot be complicit in the decisions of a team.

Need a real gm with an actual scouting/FO background not a PR/media guy.
